never used a iphone but how do you unlock it with one hand now when it's not an arch? seems kinda stupid to have a slider thus making it a 2 hand unlock
Why would you not be able to slide the unlock from left to right (or the oposite direction) with one hand ? Because it is on the bottom ?

seems more difficult, but i guess my thumb is that "long" but the arch is so much more ergonomic and the move to unlock it with an arch seems more natural than a vertical line at the bottom. i thought that was inovative and something they would keep to be more unique, i will learn to use the slider ofc

Amazing how SE get shat on for delaying an update ONCE compared to Samsung who have a buggy phone and an update that has been delayed a couple of times, released then pulled off, the X10 has its minor issues but it seems a lot more stable than the Galaxy-S which has its users having to do mods to make it not lag and get the GPS to actualy work properly.

Lol, ye i like the arc alot more, my thumb feels better going up and curving as its like an upward swype. The straight slide doesnt require 2hands but it is not as friendly as the arc.

If the upcoming update proves to be as stable as the last one then it's definitely worth the wait. I've been reading about Samsung's software issues and they're not getting a fraction of the negativity SE gets in the press.
If SE are taking their time getting the software quality up to a decent standard then I'm prepared to wait.

I will miss the arc slider as well and saw somewhere on the SE blog that it was simply too hard for SE to implement it on 2.1. Rikard went so far as to say this was a good opportunity for a developer to develop an arc slider instead. IMO it was these little differences that made SE special but now they seem to be lazy and arrogant in that they are not listening to their customers (some can argue they never have). I think the new dialer is a much needed improvement as well. In the video Rikard mentioned that you no longer need to press a contacts number and again press call to call someone but I distinctly remember the original firmware that came with the phone never had this problem. It was only after the couple of updates 024 n 026 that this started to occur. Does anyone else remember this? Doesn't that mean that somewhere along the updates, SE screwed this up and is only fixing this problem that they themselves created more than half a year later?
Personally, SE giving use these previews of the update that is still a couple weeks away is quite insulting really. They are showing us what we've already known for a while and saying thats its still pre-release which means that they were never going to make the early Oct deadline as such. Their previous announcement earlier this year that the update will come in Q3 was essentially a lie. I'm glad that SEs profits are up and that they know that they need a serious turnaround for the company to survive in an evolving market but they have been too slow for too long. I guess i'm only saying this because the wait is very excruciating and knowing that DLNA (one of the features that i've been longing for) will still not be available until next year.
Sorry for the rant, I still really enjoy the phone. Just saddens me that its not up to its full potential.

I agree with you. I'll miss arc slider as well. It is so much cooler and unique that everyone get suprised it when I unlock the phone. AmbientTime Home screen application's unlock style is amazing as well. I stop using it due to lock problems.
And that have to double click on call fault came with 024 update.

Winnerzero, I know what you mean.
I'm really frustrated because software has always been

and

's weakness. I was hoping it would be eliminated with Android seeing as Google has done 70% of the work for them already.
But alas, no.
The 2.1 features seem to be worth the wait though... assuming they work and respond as shown. I had wished that with all the delays they would've just skipped 2.1 and jumped straight to 2.2 instead giving us official tethering w/o the need to root.
If the new 2.1 update responds as well as iOS, or even UIQ did on the P1i... I'll be happy.
So far, my only gripe with 1.6 is that on a 600MHz CPU with a tiny 320x240 screen... it SHOULD perform a LOT faster than it does. I expect the X10 Mini/MP to perform way faster than any of the previous iPhones, considering how much smaller the graphics load is.

I expect the chance of getting a custom rom to it with Froyo. That'd be perfect once for all.

if i had more cash i would change my x10i for a desire/hd but now i will have to stick with it and give it a chance, i want multi touch (but i did thought that for a start but now afterwards i miss it alot, most due to games. i guess that is not that importat but still
and when you try to "mark" text in the browser you only get one try then it auto copies it to the clipbord, i mean... do the REALLY think you will be succesfull the first time with your finger it's everything but not acurate...
