hi all, I am a new one in esato and all u guys are duin a great job. I subscibe to wap gprs Rs 99 in kolkata and for the last 7 days is facing a very strange problem. I cannot access gprs in my residential area ( I get connection failed error) but can do so without any problem in other parts of kolkata. When I am at home I dont even get the blue gprs icon in my k700i. The moment I leave that area it automatically comes back. The cc guys tell me that everything is ok on their side and theres something wrong with my handset which I find is illogical. They say other users of my area are using this service without any problem. I am fed up complaining again and again and I cant use free internet on pc. Maybe its not the right thread for this issue but I find a lot of helpful and intelligent people here. So...if someone can suggest me what to do, I will appreciate that a lot.
Spartan & Alan - I salute u for ur excellent work. Keep up the good work. Thanx a lot.

Yes. It's the tower problem. Even I had that problem last year. After complaining again & again, they rectified the problem. When u report ur problem first time, Airtel always says that everything alright in their side. lol
By the way, bring a Nokia set(of ur friend) to ur home and check.

Hi aniroy. . . I used to have the same problem few months back. It seemed as if the tower at my area didn't support data at all. I had called cc several times and had even mailed them. Then finally one day this thing was fixed. . .

Thanks to the gr8 ppl in this thread. . . Now spartan's free net works for me too. I ve got it working on my W550i, 6230 and 3230. Here s a tip for nokia users. . . One data account is enough. Additionally you must set d apn under gprs modem settings too.
