Not to me. As I've mentioned before, this is the best phone I've ever had... and I've been using this phone for almost 3 months now. I've convinced two of my friend to get X1, and both of them love the phone very much. BTW, all of us are newbie in Windows Mobile. (I switch from UIQ, my friends switch from A200 and S60).

I have a question. Anybody has any ideas...please help.
I'm using bluetooth stereo in my car (Venturi) and listening to the songs from my X1 everyday. I have voice command that will read sms or email.
If I use windows mobile player, the song will be paused when I have incoming message...and the phone will read the message to me through the car speaker and as soon as the message end, the song will be resumed. I love this feature very much as I can listen to the SMS/email while driving.
Everything is okay if I use windows mobile player.
However, with windows mobile player, you have to start the application first. So, everytime I enter my car, I have to start windows media player unless I leave the program running in the background.
I don't want to leave windows media player running in the background since it is a memory hogging application. It consumes a lot of memory.
I've tried Pocket Player, Pocket Music and Kinoma player. All of them cannot be started automatically (same as windows media player) and all of them will not pause when I have incoming message. What happened is both of the song and incoming message will be heard through the car speaker... (normally I can't hear the message because the song is louder).
Kinoma player doesnot support AVRCP, so I can't control the track.
Then, I've tried S2P (slide to play). This is the first media player that can automatically switched on when bluetooth is connected and can be set to automatically switched off when bluetooth is disconnected. (I like this feature).... But S2P will not pause the song when I receive a message.
So far...
I like S2P for the automatic switch on and off function.
I like windows media player for the pause when incoming message function.
...all of the other players consume very small memory compared to windows media player.
...all of them will pause the song when I have incoming call.
My question is...
Anybody know what can be done to other player so that they will pause when I recieve incoming message..and the phone will read the messsage through the car speaker.
...and how windows media player do that ? There is no setting in windows media player that will pause the song.
Maybe it is too much to ask....because I believe that you can't get everything.

Doministry,
I had to hard reset, because my X1 didnt like Gamelofts delivery method.
I tried to buy Abracadaball from them, but it didnt seem to want to download properley. Kept coming up with a Java problem, i think.
So, after getting a new link from tech support, i tried again. Still couldnt get the game, but my phone started misbehaving.
Thus, hard reset time.
I have a folder on my PC for all my CAB files, ready to transfer to my X1, and i also have several backups (SPB Backup), so it wasnt the end of the world.
Wish i knew quite why it blew a gasket over a java game, though.

^ Well, I haven't got an X1 yet, but am still considering it. The reason is because from my experience I find WM 6.1 to be far too dated now. But if that problem is solved, then I will get one. There is a chance it will be solved, too. Eldar from Mobile Review said that he was waiting for the X1 to get a major software update in FEBRUARY before publishing a review of it. Also, we now know that Microsoft is planning a big WM based announcement at WMC in February. So I am keeping my fingers crossed that there could be a new OS round the corner, for X1. Or maybe a new SE device, we will see >D.

Maybe at some point WM 6.1 is dated,
but rather in the theory.
I practic, it gives the most.
It's really powerful and brings almost all you need.
The main thing needing upgrade is UI.
However I beg Windows NOT to make it look like all those iPhones/iPhone clones...

you know what i kinda like the fact that 6.1 isn't going in the direction all the other new mobile UI's are going...the UI needs an update definetly but like doministry said i hope they don't go down the iphone road nd they retain the ability to make ur device look the way u want it o..thats one advantage winmo has over most other UI's

Yep, I agree with you. The functionality is there, better than anywhere else. But two core aspects of the whole system in my view are still not there, or still not completed. That is the ease of use (i.e. how intuitive the software is, making processes simple, easy and fast; does it look good? is it enjoyable to use? is it mundane to use?), and how solid and reliable the software is (is it ridden with bugs? Does it freeze up? Are there occasional problems with running programmes? Are there compatibility issues?). To me, that is where WM falls flat. That's just an opinion based on my own use of it, really.
So in that sense, I would expect it to become far more like the sort of iphone UI which is simple and fast to use. But I know what you mean, noone wants it to become a UI clone. I don't think it will at all. But now returning from the slightly OT, I see it as a pretty crucial time where we could be on the verge of a potentially far better WM OS in a number of ways. That and there is increased competition, now from Palm (and I think the Pre outdoes nearly anything on the market now in certain ways, including hardware implementation). So for me it's very worth waiting untill WMC. Who knows, we could even see another X1 showstopper announcement.
