Wrote a email to SE to express my views on the things we think that are upcoming:
Hey,
I've got a K850i, and I was wondering. I've seen some videos of the new c902, and the new menu's and face detection look really cool. As the c902 and k850 run on the same platform, I was wondering if us K850i owners would see an firmware update that changes our menus to look like this. At the moment my K850 is unreliable, it keeps on restarting and I had to send it to a service center as when I turned it on it only lit up the blue ring and keypad. Having a firmware update that fixes the reliability and gives us these new menus would be sweet.
Could reply answering my questions please,
Harry

somehow i feel a lot of the problems with the k850i might be related with the touch keys...as w910i has similar software on it but is much more stable as it doesnt have touch keys!!...i feel having touch keys means the processor has to be constantly on the run trying to see if there is any touch occurring or not!!

I dont think it'll do anything unless it gets a pulse from the touchkey.
the k850i uses capacitive touch from what i have heard! from what i read about capacitive touch
"When the sensor's 'normal' capacitance field (its reference state) is altered by another capacitance field, i.e., someone's finger, electronic circuits located at each corner of the panel measure the resultant 'distortion' in the sine wave characteristics of the reference field and send the information about the event to the controller for mathematical processing."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Touchscreen
this means it would be constantly monitoring it and processing it to see if its pressed or not!!

Then they should have made the k850 without 5mp cam etcetc and call it e.g. X790, instead of releasing it as a flagship/topoftheline (cybershot) phone.
