Any camera phone from SE w/o a xenon flash will never be better than the K790 or K850i. For camera features, these two are on the top. C902 is useless, what makes it better than a K850i? Nothing really. Once the K850i is straightened out I am sure it'll be a good phone eventually.

Now if I could only take advantage of the speed improvements of the last two firmwares without the fear of getting another BROD, I'd be almost set.

I just did a master reset settings and a master reset all just for fun and the phone speed improved - I don't know. maybe its just me, but from time to time this phone amazes me.
I won't replace it with c902 or something.

Mine with R1EA037.
Although my K850 never produces such good photos like plankgatan's does, I still think it's agood phone, talking 'bout overall, not just camera dept.
I don't think C902 will be better than K850.
I bet it's only Shiho to beat the K850. I hope.

I read a lot of hatred threads of this phone here on esato, i didnt believe those and i went for this beauty. Its been a month since i got this phone and i absolutely love it. I never expected it to take pictures like n82, which i had before. Though its got some issues but really not bothered, hope to sort out by firmware.

ermmm maybe because i didn't know it was shit BEFORE i got it? i was expecting it to be just like my k800i but with a better camera, i would have been happy it it was exactly the same as the k800 but with the better camera but its a total letdown

Propably because we have been good happy loyal SE customers for years.
Being happy with earlier phones from SE, and seing a new SE Camera Flagship phone being advertised I immediately ordered one. How the hell was I to know in advance that it would turn out to be such crap - I kinda had to own one first before I could know and before I can bitch about it. Or would you rather Id bitch about it without owning one ?
I payed $580 for this junk, and I cant return it or get my money back - all I can do is throw it in the bin and spend another $580 on a different phone
And having been through 20 or so SE phones before this one - I do feel in my right to bitch when they present me with such a device thats flawed in such serious ways.
The camera is seriously flawed with its colortint and its imagenoise/compressionartefact - and yet its announced like this great camera phone like nothing else. I have taken more than a thousand pictures with it now - desperately hoping for just 1 that would satisfy me in terms of color accuraccy, focus and imagenoice - but no it hasnt happened yet. And I took thousands with my K750 that I felt plenty satisfied with in these areas, so its not like Im putting to much expectations on the K850. I dont expect it to act like my Canon DSLR camera - all I expect is that it produce colors that look as correct as the K750 does.
To illustrate my point - heres a picture of a car which is RED in real life - not pink.
Heres the same picture with a quick simulation done in Photoshop of how the red should have been.
The difference should be obvious.
The softbuttons is such a big design flaw - I have seriously never witnessed anything more stupid in industrial design - and they make use of the phone for everyday purpose almost impossible.
Scenario: I have keylock on, the phone rings, I pick up which unlocks the keylock, while Im talking the softbuttons are activated by my cheek and the phone starts writing sms, or turns on mediaplayer or something else, I end my phonecall and the keylock turns on again automatically - but then I have to manually turn off keylock in order to bring the phone out of whatever action it had started by itself while I was talking, and bring it back to the menu, then finish by turning on keylock again. How incredibly stupid design is that ? Hell I was only trying to answer a call - I dont have time to spend nursing the phone like that every single time it rings.
on top of that the software is so immature and slow, and the softbuttons so poor to react when you actually try to use them - that its a pain to operate the phone. Beleive me you are not missing out of any speed improvements from the latest firmwares - cause there arent any.
I cant beleive anyone would still try to defend this phone - or defend the total lack of interest from SE to do anything about it. All they care about now is just putting out new phones to sell you once more.
This one is a dead horse - and it will never be ok.
