@all: I was checking for the memory card capacity for the P910i when I bumped into the MBW-100, a bluetooth watch accessory for your phone. Pretty nice!!! Too bad its not compatible with any SE i own!!!
This kinda stuff can make me go out to buy a W880i (or at least a K750i!!)

I read this condition at the bottom of starcoms newspaper advert, for their new sim card.
You know those little message that doesn't get read by most people that see the advert, ie the terms and condition small charater print at the bottom of the advert page, "that the new sim card can only work on cdma type of phone" does this mean i can't slot this sim into my nokia N93?

The new sim should be supported by both gsm and cdma phones but unfortunately i don't think it works with all phones. Going by what i heard, the sim card is still kind of cdma but roams on gsm networks.

@ Abubakar:I'm still quite new to Linux myself but I must tell you,I have installed Ubuntu linux,(Version 6.06LTS)and I don't see what Windows offer's in terms of usability that Ubuntu cannot deliver. There is a newer version Edgy Edge 6.10 and a n even newer version in the works;Fiesty Fawn.Whats so nice about it is that you can actually "preview" before installing. What's more its free,@ least version 6.06LTS.It will be delivered to you.Like I posted earlier, you might to check the site
www.ubuntu.com and shipit.ubuntu.com(to order)
@ all:So Starcomms just 1ted to get rid of its older stock with it so called give away prices when they were planning to run a new numbering scheme that wouldn't allow the continued use of older numbers,typical...
If their new phones will be using SIMs,I think it would be in their interest and to encourage more people to adopt CDMA if the SIMs work with GSM/(W)CDMA mobile phones.

lots of Starcomms gist today!
@area namzo 234h: to clarify things, gsm and cdma are like petrol and diesel. you cant use a cdma sim in a gsm phone. nor can you roam to gsm networks from cdma. and the new phones with sims and 0702 are also being at cheap rates ie 6k. too bad i'm not based in lag. could have gotten a bunch of customers right here!

@234h: my point about linux is just that most people aren't so engaged with tweaking thier os. most just use the basic clerical apps. i once used a linux shell that tho windows worked in the back ground i had a linux desktop interface. it was really cool, but as of that time there weren't any "use as is" linux os as there are now. those ones needed lots me tweaking to get it to your taste.

@ Abubakar:Not that I'm a Linux spokesperson or anything but I think you really should try Ubuntu.Too bad I haven't used the post ofice recently(not sure if they'll pilfer the mail),I would have gladly sent you a copy.
Are you saying the new Starcomm SIMs will not work on phones such as SE K790 or Nokia 6288 amongst others of their kind?

As long as the phones are GSM, CDMA SIMs will not work on them, and vice versa.

But I hope they would work on another CDMA network that goes the same CDMA-SIM-card route ko? For example, if Reltel does the same thing, I can just swap SIM cards and be on Reltel?
I saw the advert today...bold and impressive.
Can we configure and browse WAP sites like we do with GSM's GPRS on these new SIM cards?
