79 EUR difference, just for the 2.1 update? Strange, that it is available for purchase, but is not shown on SE page...

Oh, the excitement of multitouch/no multitouch. There's nothing more entertaining than a good conapiracy theory of why SE has been confirming/denying mt.

Those videos are looking increasing genuine to me. I'm not 100% convinced though. Waiting for the update or some official word.

Flash memory is solid state in that there are no moving parts e.g. memory cards are flash memory. Flash disks have the potential to be faster than hard disks but are more expensive for faster and higher capacity. No moving parts means no risk of data corruption if it's knocked or moved (perfect for mobile phones).

Hard Disks are in circular 'platters' or disks and are read with a needle going backward and forward over them. Hard disks are relatively cheap for high capacities and good speeds. Hard disks are very movement sensitive (if you knock it during a read/write process you can cause data corruption).

Size also plays a part, hard disks have to be fairly sizable as there needs to be spindles, needles, motors etc to run it. Flash memory is basically a chip.

Thats why the Nokia N91 was so big, it had a HDD, whereas the W950 had flash mem.

I'm not getting my hopes up either, SE have stated so many times that it's not MT compatible but I guess they wish it was.

The video with the pinch zoom in the browser looks most convincing, it's difficult to see how that faked.

I'm not holding my breath for clarification from SE on this either. I'm not sure Rikard on the SE Product Blog will hear an end to the abuse if he posts up that they made another boo boo, and the head chiefs won't be happy as it would have lost them sales to say unconditionally no multi-touch ever. I might consider a custom FW if it had multi-touch.

I was thinking that the multi-touch problems were the only thing holding SE back from Froyo+ as that has flash support (of which adobe sell MT as a big thing) and Froyo has MT support inherently (and probably some MT dependant features).

Thank you so much buddy

Regarding MT, I think there is going to be some news on it later after 2.1 is released. It is very hard to say anything right now but the best part is, things are shaping up for MT on X10. Even if the videos are fake, I'm sure there will be MT on Custom ROMS sooner or later!
