It's down to the type of screen they use. Some of the TFD screens consumed very little power so could keep the clock visible. The TFT ones used on the high-end models suck lots of power, so they don't offer the feature.

I'm sure someone could hack the firmware to make the option available (just as you can allow the FM radio to work without a headset plugged in) but I doubt you'd want to!

Just got my W890i I got the Espresso Black, thing is it doesn't seem to be jet black there is a tinge of brown going through it? The back cover especially. Anyone with the black version can they confirm this for me please.

its definitely not the Mocha Brown i can tell by the soft keys.

the black has a tinge of brown (especially when viewed from an angle). This is just a side effect from the way the metal plate is anodized. The plate starts out silver, then it is anodized layer by layer with brown and then only black. This also gives the black finish a nice metallic sheen. IMHO the back cover differs from the overall body color because it was probably done as a different batch.
