Ive always wanted a 808. I don't think ive ever knowingly seen one in the flesh either since it never got taken up by the phone stores in the UK or networks.

I use my N8 almost daily still, mainly for tasks such as an alarm clock, its camera (better than any other 12 / 13mp cameraphones camera to this very day imo) and other apps and features Android doesn't have.

I also have my giffgaff payg sim card in it, which people get me on when they run out of minutes or credit as they can call me for free on it. The 808 is a much more powerful phone compared to the N8, so I can only imagine Symbian being more usable on the 808. Going back to the N8, I find it struggles even with fluid menu interface animations if I tax its little cpu with much more than simple tasks.

Oh yes.. the 808 is better than the N8 in every way when it comes to user experience When I switch from the 808 back to the N8 is a bit of a struggle.. especially the keyboard

But the camera on the N8 and the phone built.. top notch! I actually still like the DR on the N8 better than the 808.. and in some cases the color reproduction as well.

It was a very special device. Here is a nice article about it

@cu015170 about the colours, yes, N8 looks very nice and in many pictures it does seem to look better than 808.

I wonder if I should get an 808. 1020 is a bad, I doubt Nokia will release anything decent any time soon. Do you think they'll release a 1025 next year? And it'll be better? They just released the AMBER update for Lumias and the camera is software is still the same, oversaturated, grainy and noisy oil painting.

I see the 808 as the "natural" upgrade path from an N8 , not the 1020.

also the price difference is something to consider. The 808 goes for around 400 us dollars, and 1020 for about twice as much. It just depends if you are willing to use symbian, but if you are already using it on an n8, you will find that all it's shortcomings are less exaggerated on the 808 's hardware platform..

And.. You are asking the wrong person : ) i love the 808

@ cu015170 : I have not read all the topic but you still using your iPhone 5 ?

If so, why? If your 808 is so perfect...

I don't think they'll release another 41mp cameraphone this year or next actually. I think it ends with the 1020, unless they start releasing multiple 41mp cameraphones.

I think Nokia's next step in the imaging department would be in other areas, which require a little innovation. The only way I see the 41mp module improving would be raising the megapixel count higher.

I would give the 1020 a chance if I was out for another phone, the 808 is a truly brilliant device but the 1020 just brings all the 808 has into 2013. I still don't believe the 1020 takes poor images at all and will probably show its powers come release.

^ my guess is that they will give the 1020 a "facelift" .. new screen, new SoC, same camera module and body.

No.. I gave it to my dad since he needed a new phone. The iPhone 5 is a very good smartphone by the way.. its just not a good fit for me.
