UK Forum members may be interested to know that the carphone warehouse website has updated it's "Coming Soon" for the P990. Last week it said "expected 2006", now it says "expected May 2006".
What a downer!
Also, I spoke to a customer services operator at Orange this week to see if they had a release date. It's not on any of their "soon" lists, and they're normally a few months ahead from what the operator said.

---The phone is not oficially released yet but many vendors are already selling
it.
We also have the Sony Ericsson P990i in stock already.
We are always able to get the phones before the oficial release.

There is a flaw in their line of answering to your question. If not one of you changed the subject from your original question then it shouldnt be a confirmation of "We also have the Sony Ericsson P990i in stock already." Not picking on you at all, BUT if their double confirming the model as if its never been mentioned, either that store's correspondant doesnt speak or write English natively OR their bullshavicking you! In this case I tend to speak the later.
PLEASE !!! to EVERY1 DONT mention a retailer is selling it unless you have a photo of your purchase from them IN YOUR HAND with original (not searchable on the net) photo posted by you. It pains me and will piss people off that you mention some store having it just to waste others' time to research & found out that they dont.
sorry if that wording didnt come out right, I'm hung over from drinking.

I think enough people have been ripped off from fraudulent sites stating they have it in stock. ESPECIALLY since there is a conference on developers to make their apps ready for it.

you see all there is a difference between complaining, and arguing your own opinion.
Veteran members will know that I've been a P-series man since the P800 and with the release of my OSX.SE it showed I had dedicated.
It is also a fact that it is undoubtedly frustrating to hear rumours, when the phone is obviously known to the world and SE dont seem to even want to hint at an updated estimation.

Maybe because like Blizzard, they know the value in setting target windows, not target dates. If you set a date someone will hold you to it, esato and pretty much ANY community is absolutely cut throat with their crticism if the manufacturer misses a date.
If they set a window, "May" for instance, then it allows them that time to get it right, maybe it'll come out on the first, maybe it'll come out on the last, but if they meet the month then well done.
Blizzard does this with their software, they don't believe in giving peopel a date until the software is right, or as close to it as they want so the product is polished and not just a slap happy job.
Does any of this help cure my own impatience? Not at all! But still hoping they get it right. I remember the early days of the P800, some people loved the device, I did when I was using it too, but god.. I wanted to throw it out a window more times than not

do not purchase anything from mobile world, his sites keep on getting taken down for fradulent activity and he makes new bogus ones, that isnt the only domain he has tried scamming people on. Please people this guy is more bogus then anything. Wanna see ask him, if he has any reviews from people who have purchased or why he has gone through 15 domain varitations of mobile world lol

the official release is suposed to be a stable and fully working version of P990. if you get it before, even if they have it, it's possible that it is an incompleted/buggy version.
