@jmash: I had a similiar problem when tried to connect to MXit from my trusted old P910...it just would not connect and after several days of attempting to connect I finally gave up and removed Mxit alltogether, settling instead for the likes of AgileMessenger and Verichat (bloody good app).

I am sure there are msn-like apps that might do a good job, or something else that you can use to connect to Mxit friends. Msn is just sucky in the sense that it needs your friends to have msn accounts and add it to mxit...do not know how well that works.

Well folks at least I gave it a try!I guess I'll have to remove it from my system & start looking for a similar app.
Thanx guys!
Did anybody notice that this week was a Life Sentence Week. Most of the high profile case prisoners were given life sentences this whole week, especially the two fools who murdered the little girl and raped the nanny.I think they got what they deserve, even though they are still breathing & they will be feeding on the tax payers money for all their lives. The fools should have been hanged or had bullets put through their brains.Fucking Morons!

@jmash: I know everyone is pretty upset about crime, this morning I interviewed a couple who had lost two of their sons through violent crime. Go to Google News and search for "Desmond Tutu Steve Biko"...he's prety spot on about the issues facing our nation.

Me and Handsome had a long chat about a disagreement about the crime issue last night. The girl from USA asked us if crime is bad here, and I gave her an accurate answer. Handsome, the eternal optimist went at me about that. The whole thing of the media over-inflating everything and that this is a great place. She asked me if crime was bad, and I told her. I also told her that I would not leave this country, and that it's a great place, but the crime is bad none the less.

I don't think we should discuss about crime in here. Some of us may get upset. @Brix, thanks for the nice words you said about me in the other tread. R You still using your N70? If yes just don't let Arez find out. He will think you hate SE, and is very important he does not think that way.

@mario2004: The attempt at sarcasm has been noted.

Of course I'm still using my N70-1...never been ashamed to say that I own a Nokia...if you check my previous posts about my choice you would've seen that at the time the N70 was the best bet...I could've waited for the K800 but felt I had found the phone I was looking for, mind you this had been my first Nokia since the 5110 back in the day. Overall it's a good phone.
Here are some of my observations on the N70.

Compared to the K750 the N70's 2mp camera is a joke...rather call it 1.8mp without AF.
The S60 OS is slow...the UIQ2 is way faster.
It's back cover/slide mechanism is flimsy.
Connectivity is great, Nokia PC Suite deserves points for seamless integration with Outlook and my other applications.
There's battery life is poor...Ok, then again the K700 wasn't any better at conserving it's battery.
As many people have mentioned before keypad could've been improved, too many keys and not much to do with them.

So there you have it, an honest assessment of my N70-1. Not too bad a phone, it just could've been so much better.

@ Brix,we still like you, despite your nokia:) lol! it is just a jolly phone. people take the 'what phone do you have' thing way too serious. it comes down to what it can do, and does it suit my needs, and even if it does not, so what. it is a means to communication, not a reflection of who you are...is it?lol!

Nah, mario2004 was just trying to bait me into a mindless debate...for me Nokia and make good phones although I've got an obvious bias but still it does stop me from getting something that I like, at the time it's available.

@ Francois,
Do yourself a favour swaer. Log in, go to mario's profile in his post and from there go and have a look at his other posts, as well as that of mario 2002 etc. in older posts.
Read these and you'll see how much more weight and relevance your post's statement has for our resident Series 60 slave.
You'll also notice how apt the description on the first post on this thread is.
I do agree with you that some people take all the debacles and discussions on this site far too seriously; I mean some people really ought to get out more.

In my signature, you'll notice I've owned most prominent makes (apart from Samsung) and I acknowledge every make and phone's strong and weak points, MOST based on my own personal experiences, which inevitably help mold my viewpoint/s about each specific one.

But as technology advances each year, so the increasing list of must-have features make them so much more than just 'phones.' Increasing digital camera abilities, music players, PDA/organiser, TV soon etc. etc...
Nokia themselves are championing the 'Multimedia Computer' term for their flagship offerings...and how much more pertinent will this be with every year that passes.
