thinking of doing a master reset before doing the up date and leave my 16Gb card out too till the update is done and sort some settings out, if ur memory card is full it can really slowdown the X10 last time I put like 8 albums on my phone in one go it slowdown my phone all night can only imagine what it be like for the whole 16Gb plus will have the facial recognition photos, music, videos ect running in the background to slow it down so will do mine at night so it can sortthings our while I'm sleeping. I'm sure people who have upgraded will of had this and can let us know that it speeds up after a while?

@ Skibbe, I think the Desire (2.1) has flash lite 4.
(Didn't I see a reply from you just minutes ago, or did I just imagine that)

It depends which class of memory card you are using. From what I have read in other forums, they are using 8-10 class and it's working charm!

Android 2.1 is great. The speed of the phone is improved.
But the option to set the brightness automatically is removed. I set it to 50%

I don't think it is removed becuase it responds the light.
Instead of being able to turn it on and off, now it is allways on and you can adjust it with the new setting.
