No Fm radio and the x10 mini has it...

I am in the look for an android unlocked phone here in the US and SE X10 is one good choice because phones like samsung and HTC lastest android are too expensive for the unlocked ones or they are brandred but sim free... I just want a unlocked factory one like the x10 but since theres no fm radio, besides the lack of multitouch... I just cant decide quite well what phone to buy.

looks like the n900 will stay for a bit longer

Is it just me or has the X10 gone louder in both Mediascape and in-call?

This maybe a stupid question but I couldn't find anything online to tell me what region my X10 is. From the build number? Base version? Kernel version?
Try this:
Lock the screen
press home button so the screen is on
do not slide the slider
press menu back back menu back menu menu back to enter the service menu
Model info will give you the customization and Country the phone was distributed in

It's true in the beginning the battery was awful not even lasting a day but now my battery lasts two days with an hour per day of gaming, an hour per day of internet browsing, a dozen texts per day, a 20 minute phone call per day, push gmail on with about 20-30 emails on work days and if I don't use the GPS. If I take it away with me on a trip I only get a day out of it, but I use it twice as much and take 50-100 photos and videos.
One of the other guys with the update will have to tell you how much better it is with that.

I have my phone in "automatic check for updates" mode, but I'm beginning to wonder if that is not working. It seems you can only update via Sony Ericsson PC Companion on the computer, which i wonder if the phone would pick up an update at all. can someone verify? I find myself yesterday and today frequently manually checking for updates.
When will the updates come to USA? I live in Kansas,USA and is on T-Mobile USA network. I bought my phone unlock via eBay and I dunno where my phone came from. Is that a factor in the updates? does it matter where I am or which version I'm using?
Model version: x10i
firmware: 1.6
Baseband ver: 1.1.31
Kernel ver: 2.6.29-rel
Build number: R2BA026
ALSO: Music can be put into playlists, can we do that with videos on the Xperia x10?
Btw, I realized that compare to many other latest Android phones, the Xperia x10 lacks many things, like a secondary, front-facing camera, Flash for pictures, FM radio (not via apps), multi-touch capabilities and the infamous long wait for only Android 2.1 while many are on 2.2 Froyo.
But since this is SE first Android device, I hope that their upcoming models would incorporate the latest, advanced, high-tech hardware and user friendly software/OS.
though I'll still keep my Xperia x10, which I like very much, but hopefully SE improve their new models while doing everything they possibly can to improve the SE Xperia x10 as well.
My problem is, if and when they come out with their new models, what will I do with my xperia x10?...

How did you get to improve the battery? Are you talking about after a firmware upgrade in the past?

No update yet for my Singapore X10 sadly. Still, I'm confident it won't be very far away.

After a days usage i can honestly say, wow what an improvement!
Sadly i haven't noticed any difference in call volume. The battery life is much better, after a whole day of usage, playing games, surfing the web, listening to music, timescape updates, 3g always on and wifi, you know, been using it a lot, I still had 30% left!
And the UI looks great, can be a bit sluggish at times, but bearable!
And the HD video capture looks good too
