Too lazy to read the thread, but just got R1FA035. This is not in OP.

is everyone else's speakerphone during calls much quieter than the loudspeaker during music?

i'm using R1FA035 and that's always bothered me. the speakerphone is so quiet i practically have to hold it next to my ear, but the music playback is good.

things i'd like to see added to sony media (other than lagless functionality):

1. when pressing up or down on the main walkman screen it should goto "track listing" so you can do a name search instead of having to search by it's number.

2. i'd love to have some type of softkey or key combination for two things - a. "more from this artist" b. "more from this album" - sometimes when i hear a song come on, it reminds me of another that i'd rather hear and it'd be so easy to find with those two functions and a great place to put these would be the two "gaming keys" at the top. they don't seem to serve much purpose.

3. auto-rotate function for pictures only. i hate when i'm driving or walking and the screen's rotated without my knowing so i hit up or down instead of next track etc.

4. ability to organize photos by folder instead of date. i also notice that some photos i've put on my phone refuse to be tagged. not sure why.

5. videos shot with the phone should be put under "videos" only. i took a video on the 4th of july and later found it under "photos." without noticing the film icon i deleted it thinking it was a terrible quality photo.

I updated my Orange branded W910 to R1FA030 on SEUS last week, and originally noticed an improvement in speed and reliability. Until last night.

The phone literally got stuck in a loop of reboots, doing about 10 before I pulled the battery out and waited 5 mins before plugging it back in, with the charger which for some reason seemed to cure it.

Every day I get more and more tempted to debrand it and flash it with the most up to date firmware (Orange always seem to be a bit behind) but I'm not convinced even this will solve the problems!

I bought the phone when it was relatively new (beginning of December 2007) and the woman in the Orange shop did warn me at the time they've had quite a few instability reports from customers, but I brushed this off thinking it was just people that didn't know how to use the phone properly!

Don't get me wrong, I've used SE phones for the past 10 years and I have a strong brand loyalty to them, but this is the first one I've had that's actually been problematic!

i'd take it back to the shops mate. just see what they can do for you maybe a replace or an upgrade. if that fails, take it to a service shop since it'll be still under warranty they should fix ur PCB and things for free. after that if u wanted to, debrand it and update new firmware although i think it must jst be the build quality of ur phone
agree on the loving SE part. nokia's interface doesn't tickle me, and the layout of the buttons and things is so disorganized and ugly!

Oh it might be hardware related? I never actually thought about that, I might take it in and see what they can do for me then!

Cheers

Did anyone realise that pressing the volume key with the latest firmware no longer brings up the white background with the clock?

Also when plugging in my charger, the phone does not know how to dim and turn off the backlight. Weird huh?

Fcuk sony ericsson!
