For MMS he's gonna need to jailbreak it first and then dl an app called SwirlyMMS. Obviously he'll also need to have MMS provisioned on his account...shouldn't be a prob if he's on a non-iphone tariff

The settings for internet etc should be put in: Setting > General > Network > Cellular Data Network.... then APN: mobile.o2.co.uk, username: o2wap, password: password

Oh man!!! Just when I got used to living with no wifi I have another problem!!!

Now my phone wont wake from sleep when there's an incoming call!

I tried calling my iPhone from my landline. It would ring but the iphone won't ring or wake up... it wont even vibrate.

But when I wake it I see the missed call!

I've tried resetting it and all that but again no luck

HELP PLEASE

unfortunately that was another issue that came up alot when I was researching your wifi issue

again, the only solution I read was a replacement

just check the obvious though, that you don't have vibrate turned off AND have Ring turned off too

LOL! Already checked Masseur.

Looks more and more likely that I'm going to have to suss out a way of sending it back to Apple Italy for a replacement.

But apparently I would need to send it to a residential address in Italy, who would then have to send it to Apple. Who would then have to send it back to a resisidential address in Italy. Who could then send it back to me!!!!

WOW!!!

surely Apple have an EU (if not worldwide) warranty?

can't you just tell them here that you bought it while on holiday?

the only problem might be having a receipt, but then you'll have that problem if you send it back to Italy too I guess

Really? Mine still doesnt work, and o2 havent provisioned it on my account. I asked them to do it once, but obviously they didnt do it right. Can send, just cant receive

@scouser_75 I feel for you, i really do! Of all the people, it would happen to you wouldn't it. Is there any chance of getting the receipt from the seller, or at least seeing if he/she can do something for you?

Oddly enough they don't have even EU wide warranty. The warranty only applies to country of purchase!

And almost as odd, I do actually have a receipt My one possible life-line - I hope!?!?!?

I really do like Apple products. But at the same time I really do not like the way they deal with post purchase customers. I mean, most big companies offer worldwide warranties. So why not Apple. I could kind of understand why they don't do it for the iPhone (people buying unlocked phones from Italy etc etc). But they don't do it for other products either!

I'm not saying this just because of my iPhone experience, but because of other stuff that happened to several friends of mine when they bought Apple products.

I swore then that I would not buy another Apple product - even though I do like my Mac to bits! And if they don't resolve this matter for me I may abandon them for sure.

I need principles

Have you tried just taking it back in to the Apple Store and explaining the situation to them, that you bought it whilst on holiday etc and that you need it returning to Italy. Perhaps they might arrange to send it back to Apple Italy for you for a charge or whatever. Worth asking maybe
