@-XYZ - it was news a long time ago that sony was not allowing other manufacturers to use their camera sensors in mobile devices and they were keeping their sensors exclusive to xperia devices. so, it seems strange to me that someone would say iphone 5s would use a sony sensor, which can't be true if the previous news is also true. i'll have to google it..
moogoo, that was the plan but Sony came out with better plan - Custom image sensors for Xperia. This way they continue to get huge profits and at the same time they have a USP for Xperia. Although Samsung is not keen on using Sony sensors anymore since with the inferior Sony sensors their flagship cannot compete with the custom sensor Xperia flagship so they are developing their own sensor for Galaxy S5. Iphone 5S might still use a Sony Exmor RS sensor.

@randomuser - ah ok. whatever makes sony money
@doministry - good to see you're happy with the Z1. over the years i've seen you express a lot of disappointment as new devices come out but it seems with the Z1, you have nothing bad to say. Glad to see Sony has offered something that seems to meet all your expectations

I totally loved my X1. Pocketnow still remembers this phone.
Actually the main "kick in my balls" was X2.
Than after this flop everything started to get better and better.
I loved Arc, S and T, I also had X10 and X10 Mini...
However I wouldn't stand other brands due to design and UI, all of them had - occassionally - some glitches.
But my Z is absolutely fantastic. I will keep it until March I suppose.
It's a great companion.

@doministry - sounds good
@luwi - that offer is amazing. if it were the C6906 model i'd be ALL over it. but unfortunately it's not. that offer is making me really think about switching to tmobile though. the watch and content alone bring the cost of the Z1 down to only around $400 USD.. that's AMAZING for a brand new and amazing device..

What I'm interested to see is the showdown between S4 Zoom and Z1. equal size sensor, It'll give us an idea how superior/inferior Sony's sensor/lens/ISP tech is
I still remember when 5mp 1/2.5" sensors on iMobile 902, LG KG920 and N95 are hype (2007~), would be interesting to see how much has improved over these years
