If there's no service centers in China that can perform the upgrade, then email SonyEricsson and they will instruct you to send you phone by mail to the nearest service center.
The new software includes a lot of things, like screensaver, new menu icons, dynamic memory (that means that you dispose the memory freely, you can save like 60 background pictures, lots of melodies and so on) and you can edit and download new themes to your phone. So this upgrade really makes a major difference! You should try really hard to get it!
