I think both C510 and C901 are good additions to the portfolio, but you have to look at them for what they are.

C510 is marketed as a cheap cybershot phone. I look at it and compare it to my old K790. The C510 is slimmer, has better d-pad, HSDPA, bigger screen, will be MUCH cheaper, all at only the expense of the xenon flash, which is replaced with the very popular SE dual LED, that can be used as a powerful flash light - a feature I missed in the K790

The C901 is another impressive addition, I think, especially considering that it has XENON flash! I'm very interested to know how slim this phone is, because I was under the impression that xenon flashbulbs are difficult to incorporate into slimmer phones. If SE will go through the trouble in getting xenon in there, I am confident the camera in this phone will be worthy too. I also appreciate the conventional keypad, ergonomics is important. I don't agree with the nomenclature however, C7** or C8** would have been more appropriate IMO.

Personally, still waiting on Hikaru, my dream phone (3.5mm! W00t!) I'm just praying it will have 850/1900 HSDPA

Anyone know whether the phone will have Wifi and or GPS? Ive been looking to upgrade my K850i, but if all this phone offers is a k850i in a slimmer package with some slight software changes (Smile Shutter, Ability to change layout, etc...) then im not sure if its worth the buy.

W395 ... hmmm I just feel it look better than F305 which claimed to be where the product originated.

but well we don't focus on low end product here just like the time when W300 was out...everyone don't give a damn on it but then its a hit for the mass.

I honestly think that the C510 and C901 are perfectly fine additions to the range, although I agree that the naming of the C901 seems a bit off now that we have seen the 8MP beasts.

The reason that they are good additions is that SE can't just keep selling the same phone for three years without updating, even if the update is only slight. Look at the SE range: Currently there is no xenon flash 5Mp phone in there because they K850i is now obsolete. There is the C702 for a 3.2Mp phone, but its oddball styling and ruggedness means it won't appeal to everyone.

Honestly, I think there would be many complaints if SE was still selling the K800i and K850i and pretending like they're the latest and greatest. It's like with everything else, it needs to be kept fresh.

I'm not all for it though, I really hope we see something worth our while soon. MWC I feel is SE's last chance before a lot of people will turn their backs on the company (even more than already have).

I agree what are you saying. The phones are OK but not enough good.

We have not seen any inovation for quite some time. That is the biggest problem for SE.

IF SE have properly kitted out C901(i.e: WLAN from C905, Xenon PLUS LED from K850, etc...), then it'll qualify well for 9-series, AND be a good VFM 'mid'-ranger......

Of course, SE usually forget something(or do they remove it??)...we'll see though......
