^^^ Just a bit sad about people falling for the makers' tricks fooling people into thinking that stereo speakers a couple of inches apart would make any difference from a single speaker. I had an E90 which also has stereo speakers and the only way to enjoy stereo sound is to keep the phone VERY close to your face.

got the N8-00, Satio retired

first hand report, Battery is just about 6 hour better than Satio, which means, it can last one day but can't survive the 2nd day... right... Not happy there...

Software support is miles better than Satio...first party improves promised coming would only make the phone better...

Third party apps still lacking... ie MSN facebook,

camera performance, about the same, but flash on N8 seem weaker.

Nokia Social is a Facebook app built into the phone.

Theres also various IM apps which can make use of MSN on Ovi store.

Here´s a quick comparison between Satio and the N8. These are my own shots.

These are harsh conditions for any camera. Bright scenarios are always difficulto to depict accordingly. We cannot compare them perfectly, as the heve different SS and slightly different ISO (80 vs 105). Anyway, I guess this is a merit of the metering system to set the SS to the more appropriate value, and the N8 seems to fare better here.
Satio´s shot has clearly an increased level of artificial sharpness, whereas the N8´s shot has a more mature approach. Another guess of mine is that the N8 advantage in Dynamic Range is mainly due to its Neutral Density Filter, and not to the sensor itself. My main gripe against the N8 is its minimum ISO value @ 100. What I like about the Pixon12, for instance, is the option to select ISO-50 (which also appears with the C901 - another great shooter).

One important thing to know, though, is that the Satio also suffers from corner softness...

Satio

N8

You don't want to admit that stereo speakers on a mobile phone is just a PR gimmick.

No ! they are not a gimmick ! recently after my first N8 had been returned while i waited for my replacement to come i went back to my N95 8gb, which has great stereo speakers. The sound quality of ringtones, videos or playing music or the radio on loadspeaker is so much better than my Satio or N8.

Its not a gimmick, just not necessary, or so think the mobile manufacturers. For me, i think in 2010 stereo speakers on a phone should be a necessity, but i appear to be one of few who think so.

The phone with the best sound quality from its built-in speakers I've used until now is the E90. Amazingly good sound. And although it does have stereo speakers I don't attribute the sound quality to the dual speakers giving stereo sound but simply the fact that two speakers move more air than a single speaker.

So there may be truth in stereo speakers sounding better but you sure don't experience stereo sound unless you're very close to the speakers so that each ear receives sound separately from each speaker. Like with the E90; I had to hold it against my face to hear real stereo.

@jj03, your head is so small that you can hear the two small speakers on your phone separately? You're carrying your phone around on your shoulder like an old ghetto blaster?
