So I've made some night shots today, and I noticed I have some weird white spots in pictures. This is what I found, can anyone take a picture in manual mode, with shutter speed 1s and cover the lens with hand so that no light gets to the sensor? This is a result from mine phone, what's weird is that in faster shutter speeds this problem does not occur.

This is very odd, I think Steve Litchfield had a similar problem but only when fulling zooming on a OnePlus5. I believe Erica Griffin also spoke of Sharpening Artifacts on pics taken with the XZP.

Another good news about XZP
From the article-

"The Sony Xperia XZ Premium is the first[ [b] phone to be Cat 16 compliant, so is the only one currently able to make use of Gigabit LTE. It was hooked up to a laptop in order to show real-time download throughput via its mobile broadband connection and it did achieve stable speeds of between 600Mbps and 750Mbps."

All SD835 equipped phones are CAT 16 enabled/gigabit capable. As are the Galaxy S8/S8+ exynos versions.

^it's true. don't know why pocket lint claims XZP is the only one available. unless for some reason it is disabled on S8? though i don't see why it would be.

@admad - i don't know how you noticed those little tiny dots. since it is only happening with slow shutter at 1s, my guess is that is residual light somehow. i don't know how you're getting a dark pic covering the lens with your hand cause at 1s, there is always light coming through somehow! i will have to try a completely dark room at night and see what it does. but i think the slow shutter is picking up light somehow, even the faintest bit, and that's what you're seeing. can't be dead pixels on the display as that would be black pixels. and since the spots are moving, doesn't seem like it's something wrong with the sensor. If it is the sensor, then taking a photo in a dark room would produce the same results and consistently same placement of the white artifacts.

EDIT: here is my dark pic. taken in a practically dark room. there was some light seepage from below the door and from the GFCI LED indicator, but otherwise it was pitch dark. I faced a corner and got as close as I could to minimize any light. taken in manual mode with 1s shutter, 0 EV, auto focus. Let me know if you notice anything cause I don't. Hope this helps! Maybe you can try a dark room/closet photo at night and see how your results are?

Exactly, this is commonly known LOL Pocket-lint.

Anyway, what I hate is how long it can take networks to implement the newer Category LTE standards. I am only now seeing 4G+ (LTE-A) and VoLTE on my network in my area.
