Im sure plenty of people have complained, but if u havnt get down to there website and leave em a message!
Have SE actually got a testing team or have they just left it up to the general public this time? I'll take the job if its goin?
Still awaiting this "imminent" firmware...

OK then, so a few days ago, I rang o2 about my faulty k750, and they said no problem, we'll have a new handset to you in 1-3 days. So I rang up today (not believing them in the first place) and the guy states that some new handsets were given out on the 20th, and the next batch are the 4th of July! So I was lied to in the first place. o2 really need to sort themselves out, and inform each member of their team on the status of things. I have now got to wait like the rest of you until the 4th, I just hope that the new handsets are ok.
If these problems persist and the w800 is released, I am going to demand a w800!

Yeah got for it, all uve gotta do is mention that u wish to cancel ur contract and go to another network and they're putty in ur hands!
I prefer the look of the k750 anyways... but whatever floats ur boat
I think most of the bugs have been found now judging from how dead the forums are so its only a matter of time... saying that my phones been ok, i guess it is worth paying that little extra for the unbrandedness!
When i can upgrade through o2 the new phones goin straight on ebay

Hi, just got off the phone with SE customer services (0870 523 7237 if anyones interested) and I explained to the guy about the problems I'm having which I mentioned in my earlier post, and about the video bitrate being reduced. I asked him if anyone else had mentioned these problems, and he said no, that they hadn't received many calls after the upgrade, and that there is a new firmware due for release soon (Rev. 3) but didn't think any of these problems were addressed in it, only the gprs problem with branded phones. After that he took quite a few details and I told him to look at this website to find out the other problems that people are having. He noted it down and said he would pass it on to management to look through to try to resolve the issues people have been having. Basically they didn't have a clue about the video quality reduction, so we need to let them know that we are unhappy with it and hopefully they do actually have a look through this forum.
Thanks

Well, as I've just gotten a K750i (to replace my aging P800) I'm surprised to hear about the multitude of issues with users.
I'm trying to get through 50+ pages of information here and some of it seems anecdotal while others seem to be attributed to a branded version (O2 notably). I'm a bit lost when it comes to whose version is hosed and whose is not. I've had no crashing, the occasional photo flunkieness, not wonderful performance of video but overall a general good-feeling about the phone.
So I've got a simple help-me-catch-up question: My particular phone is running the original firmware and is unbranded; would you say it's best to wait on the update or go ahead?

The Da Vinci website is reporting new firmware - R1L. I assume SEUS will have it very shortly.

jtrascap i too have an unbranded k750 which i have updated.
Ive put the phone through its paces both before and after the update and generally it is more stable than it was b4 (i still get crashes after watching videos sometimes though) but all in all not much difference to be honest, ive had no major problems with the phone at any time. Although the update did mess up my email contacts so i had to resync with outlook and now its fine. I had trouble using remote desktop aswell b4 i updated but since it has work nearly everytime. I still cant bluetooth stuff from the phone to the pc though but can vice vesa.
My advice is ive uve got no probs dont bother, a new version will be release soon so just wait for that!

Someone can correct me, but I think at one stage SEUS was two firmware revisions behind Da Vinci for the K700i.
I think Da Vinci gets the firmware at the same time as manufacturers and service centres. SE take a little longer to make them publicly available.
...I think. Anyone?
