Just restored the backup and I notice that some of the contacts have been duplicated and there does not seem to be a way to get rid of the duplication. Any advice?

A feature I would really like to see with the Xperia cameras is the ability to keep taking shots by keeping your finger pressed on the capture button so you can then choose the photo you want to keep or keep all of them. This would be beneficial in the sports mode in particular or for night time shots so you can choose the best photo as I always have problems taking decent photos at night with the X10, especially if the object is moving say like a person/s or fireworks in the sky.

I always have this feature switched on with my proper Sony Cybershot camera, would be nice if it was the X10 as well.

Was that their previous Best Shot feature they did??

Yeah thats the official name for that feature its on a lot of the cameras old and new. Another good one is being able to swipe the camera from left to right to get that 'panoramic' shot like whats one the TX9 and NEX-5/NEX-3 it's brilliant.

It would be good to see them features on high end flagship phones.

Did you make any vcard backups of contacts direct to memory card? that you could use.

Me personally because I have so many contacts I've got vcard backups on my memory cards, same on my pc also by the Sony Ericsson backup and restore and also using My Phone Explorer and then also in Outlook lol. I wouldn't rely on just one way if something does go wrong.

Otherwise surely dupes can be indiviually deleted and a fresh backup made of the correct contact/address book.

@elad
goto settings and let all your contacts sync with google contacts ('setting' -> 'accounts & sync' -> gmail -> 'sync contacts'), then log in to gmail.com with your google id (after the phone has finished it's syncing process) and go to 'contacts' -> 'find and merge duplicates'. It lists all the duplicates and let's you decide which ones to merge together and which ones not to. Really simple. It also then means you never have to backup your contacts again as they'll always sync up to the gmail contact book and conversely changes sync down to your phone automatically.

Wouldn't listen to the above crap ^

Google has had many problems with losing and messing contacts up, also problems with other syncing applications which mess up contacts like that time with Picasa or simply when they changed from googlemail to gmail.

It's not a hard backup just the same as Sony Ericssons cloud sync which again many people have managed to wipe their 'backups' away.

I wouldn't use that shit and certainly wouldn't rely on it.

Saving to vcard or similar like My Phone Explorer .mpb is the best way.

hey guys you know if with the 2.1 update the LED light of the camera now turns on automatically? More like the a LED flash rather than a LED light. Also what about the earpiece volume? a bit louder now?
