They have alot of people to cater for OTHER than you, you know. Although Im annoyed that I fall into a category which they STILL havent catered for, all sources indicate that 10 odd UIQ phones are coming. I cant say there will be a single perfect one among them, but your comment, bav, is completely wrong. Problem is, we get tired of waiting.

Very tired of waiting, and again the whole "there is not good phone/paris/P5i, it's all just a joke from SE" feeling I got 3-4 monhts ago is coming again.

I hope for May to be a good month when is comes to high-end phones.

But the X1/TyTn2 form factor is not so ergonomic considering you have to turn this to write. Plus Windows.

True. In general I don't find devices that have the answer/reject button at the very bottom of the device very ergonomic. The P990 is still my favorite but assuming SE will discontinue that form factor, my next preference would be something like X1/ Tytn 2 which would pretty much limit one handed use.

Yes but I'm not going to jump to Windows Mobile. And I'd prefer Paris form, it's definately more one handed.

No we get tired of waiting and then when the product comes its never as good as the pre release hype suggets. This forum over hypes phones so much at times. Take the K850 for example. Sofia this and that, its gonna kick the n95 into check ect.....probably the most problomatic phone SE have released to date.

G700, G900 and Beibei are pretty much the same so that leaves 7 UIQ devices. Right now I'm looking for something new in terms of innovation. A lot of people say that the hardware makes a difference but if Paris and co. are on UIQ 3.3 how can we tell. Smooth processing yes but to me Paris and G series are too similar, SE is just changing the little details which is why Beibei exists (scroll wheel instead of a d-pad). I'm going to give this whole batch a miss until UIQ 4 comes out and the devices that come with it. Only then will we see the true performance of the hardware when there is something challenging to run i.e. G700 and Paris are supposedly running the same software but Paris is more high end and more expensive (don't say that the rocker qwerty is over £100 alone). Sounds a bit wishy washy to me.

Im very tempted by rumours of
a) UIQ 4,
b) Windows Mobile 7 (The idea of full Office 07 on a frikkin mobile, you tell me thats not awesome!),
c) Paris
d) any other of the 6 unknown UIQ devices which may appeal to me.

The last two are heavily influenced by the fact that Ive already been waiting around a year as it is for an ultimate superphone to replace my K700, and am getting fed up. Still, the first two could be very, very much worth the wait. So, to me its not a case of if, but when. I think if I can hold on till this time in 2009, something really INNOVATIVE will come along. Theres plenty of scope for it, be it a new model, or a new OS/UI. I wish I knew where the roadmap will take all this in a years time.

I agree, I would prefer to stay with Symbian/UIQ too. However, if the P1 style keyboard is the only option, I may as well go for an HTC/X1 style full keyboard.

You wont see any UIQ device actually released until 2009. Same goes for WM7.

I will reserve my thoughts on Paris only once I have seen confirmation that its running on OMAP 3rd gen chipset otherwise its probably just another SE UIQ mess. Not to mention they are terrible at making touch buttons.

As for the other UIQ4 devices well none that we have seen so far even make me bink an eyelid.

Somehow I dont think this will be SEs year. They need a bestseller like the K800. Hopefully Shiho but i wont hold my breath after the Sofia/K850 fiasco.

I begin to wonder whether I should get the G900 in the meantime, as its not as expensive, and then thatll last me until something really astonishing surfaces in the next 2 years.

You may aswell wait or if you have to get something now get the P1. Cam may be 3.2mp but it beats G900 in all if not most JBenchmark tests.
