The video calling is probably designed for 3G networks that support video calling. Even for WM5 devices with video calling there is no app to use with WiFi and Skype/Yahoo etc. But I am sure once the P990 is released some geek will find a way...

May! So much for quarter one, least i have time to save up now! Bad news though that

always seem to be delaying things, mind you suppose they want it to be spot on before release.
Will be worth the wait.

I have just spoken with someone from SE, they have received today an internal e-mail.
They have been announced that P990 lounch will be delayed till may or after, maybe, because it isn't stable.
Sorry to announce you all that.

I hope by now Sony Ericsson has learned the lesson that major software+hardware upgrades generally don't folow deadlines.
I'm sorry for everyone that was expecting the P990.
I myself gave up expecting for the P990 last week, and I'm buying another P910, since mine slowly dying.
I figured I'd rather have a good and reliable phone until xmas, than an expensive & unstable P990, and that lacks all software.
I love this machine, it has tons of software & games, and for now I don't need much more.
The production line of the P910 is being discontinued, and the prices have dropped a lot. I've got mine for 385€ (unlocked & unbranded).
If you love this phone, you should purchase before it totally disappears.

@ miss copperfield - i wouldnt read too much into that anyway. Every phone ive ever wanted and checked with CPW, they've gotten later than everyone else, even if the phone has been out weeks.

I've already locked down on a pre-order on this bad boy. I'm sure they'll be some inflated prices, but at least I'm locked in and my funds have already been authorized and placed on hold.
Can't figure out why some would not think the Stylus position is not an issue. How many handhelds in the market have their Stylus dock on the left side of the unit? The bottom line is that this is out of the norm and not practical because it doesn't suit the majority. I'm being objective on this issue for the following reason; I am ambidextrous in almost every aspect of my activities. That still places me in the 10% of the population where righties fillout the balance. By that rationale SE is marketing this handheld to consumers that fit into the 10 percentile of the population. Does that sounds like good marketing strategy to you?
By the way, didn't the preliminary specs on the P990 state that it employed an integrated GPS receiver? Maybe I'm mistaken, but does anyone else remember reading reports of this too?

Very intelligent question which I was about to answer with 'use the tab button' but there is non. However, not sure how this would work with the P910i/a (those who use one everyday can answer pls), but I think that with either the scrollwheel, or pressing the ALT key with arrow keys on either side of the space bar would assist. I'm likely to deduce from watching proto videos that it woul automatically tab over to the next entry field; if its variable length then user could use the return key or not sure what other options. *I believe that this is what is taking SE this long before finalizing the firmware/software. SE has many years of doing this kind of device ever since the R386 (I think) so each iteration has been an improvement of features & usuability.

Another smart question that I too am interested in. IF the cameras are API reachable in code, I'm guessing professional apps like CISCO/AVAYA VoIP or other apps would enable this functionality. I would hope that a unified app with support for MSN/GoogleTalk/Yahoo/AIM (with support for Apple's OS X iChat PLS?!!!) would have this functionality. I do hope you send an email to SE requesting this too just in case. I would pay $30CAN for this kind of app as long as its consistently updated (bi-weekly or mthly) and an upgrade to a major version (i.e. 2.0/3.1/4.1 as apposed to 1.1/1.2/1.4/1.

for say $9.99CAN.
Sweet connecting over WiFi in the car while in the drive-through or even in the mall and BAM you get an instant message requesting video chat. lol video sex chat would never be personal again, lmao!

The integrated GPS is mentioned in the VERY FIRST post of this thread by the Author (Maratonmannen). SE obviously did some fine tuning and feature ellimination since. But the article from the qoute posted below had one of the first published mention of a P910 successor. Looking at this closer I would gather the specs are suited for the successor of the P990 (i.e. P1000). Did we actually have a peek into what SE has in mind for this coming Winter already?
"According to the leading mobile magazin in Sweden, there will be three new phones June 13. Among them is P1000:
• 3g
• 3 megapixel camera
• Blackberry support
• UIQ 3.0
• Wi-Fi support
• Built in GPS antenna
