I like the idea but it also means that you will have your old contacts/calender entries when you use your clean backup...

Hello gabster , sorry for the late reply.

After I make any changes on my Contacts, I goto Contacts manager and send the whole contacts as a all.vcf to my laptop. After a FW upgrade or hard reset, I send the all.vcf file back to the phone . Now with P990 we can even backup our contacts to Memory stick, so we can restore from memory stick. Same applies to Calendar entries too. After a clean back up with my method, just add the contacts/calendar and 3rd applications manually.

**TODAY is 16th , where is the new FW ???? Come on SE, what is taking you so long ?????

Given SE's previous commitment to the UIQ 3 platform on P990i and M600i, I think it's pretty safe to assume there is going to be another update.

And given the amount of crippling (and also plain annoying) bugs that still remain, it would be sheer neglect if they stopped updating the platform only a few months after its release!

It comes from people on the different forum that have close contact to SE (Michal from my-symbian, MR, Virgile from Planete SE, etc) , and, like it was said, SE history with UIQ devices also states they commitment to improve the phones via fw

My previous post was made just to give this thread a bit of a smile by comparing the current situation for the new firmware release, just like the release date of the P990i when nobody knew when it was gonna be released.

Dont take yourselves so seriously. I've been waiting for the new firmware the same as you do... So give a smile to your faces now...

Always in a friendly manner...
