The trend is to use a 3:rd part OS in your phone because you can never by yourself create a far better OS then the all the other manufactures together, and maintaining a OS cost a lots also.
Except for IPhone, they cheated and migrated a well proven OS from the computer market to the phone market. That's the reason why they are doing cash, not for their phones are bad, but for their OS is great.

also Apple is NOT, i repeat THEY ARE NOT an OEM, by NOOOOOOO stretch of the imagination, they contract their assembly and every part of their devices come from 3rd parties. they have no manu plants.
aesthetically its unpleasing. the w960 looks like a phone works as a phone, it just needs a memory expansion slot, HSDPA/HSUPA, denser pixel arrangement, More colors (16mill), larger screen 3.0" bravia (which we know they have!)

so to be more objective, are you saying the iPhone is a bad phone because it can't record video? And because thy didn't invent their touch screen? And because their OS isn't OEM:ed?
You have to be kidding.
In what way did SE invent the UIQ when they bought it? None.
In what way did SE OEM retailed UIQ? None (except one lousy Motorola phone)
About that video part, come on man.. it also missing GPS, A2DP, iPV6, HSDPA/HSUPA, 13 MPixel camera, 600 GB of storage, 3D hologram projector, Cell processor.. the ONLY thing w960 got that iPhone doesn't is support for European Network, the iPhone is for US market (so you can say w960 is missing EDGE, does it makes w960 to a bad phone? no).
The price? Well... you are comparing a rumor with a fact, SE w960i WILL cost about 600 Euro. try
www.inwarehouse.se and search for w960.
As for the ringtone part, sure that sux. I agree.

Hello!
My deepest concern about this phone is the memory management!
I had a P990 when it first came out and until about 2 months before the p1 was released. If i started for example the browser, contacts and mp3 player the phone would restart. The memory in the P990 was really a nightmare and im really afraid of buying the w960 just because of that!
How is the w960 dealing with multitasking? I hope its better. A lot better!
