i have never seen some benefit with example Symbian S60. (except that you can install millions of third-parts programs, if you have some need for that).

S60 runs slower (compared to a full working Java),
cant run flash themes,
more unlogic Interface(meny)-design (takes ages to find something compared to Java),
more ugly Interface(meny)-design,
cant show full size wallpaper............and so on.

very excited about C905 new Java platform10 (JP10)

Plank, those are OLD S60 facts dude. Based on S60 2nd Edition a la N70 days.

*S60 is VERY fast, menu, application startup (I'd say is on par with the likes of J2ME apps like YahooGO3 Beta - thats a HUGE app), or S60 App usage.
* Flash Themes are VERY much possible and present - not in regular themes, there is a FREE installable application that TOTALLY changes the look at feel of the menu and home screen using Flash, Java, Ruby, Python - though I cannot recall its name - its listed on a site.
* Menu when you buy different S60 3rd Edition phones can be a bit overwhelming I'll agree. But thats the beauty of Themes. Same thing we're used to in Modding with Flash Themes on A1 phones, this can be done simply with Themes on S60 (digital/analog clock). Menu Folders and Icons can be changed & moved around to one's liking, same with BlackBerry now.
* Full Size wallpaper? Are you serious, this was available on my S60 2nd Edition 6620 phone and is STILL present. However I believe you mean the lack of FULL size Contact Picture for incoming calls. Have no clue why this is still something in S60 lacks.

Back on Topic.

C905 Shihoo using JP8.4
Offical Announcement: listed in first paragraph last sentence - JP8

4th Heading ...
JP-8.4 is differentiated by including the Project Capuchin API and the new C905 Cyber-shot is the first phone to support JP-8.4.
Raiderski...............sorry, i wrote (meant) wrong. i mixed 7 with 8. (i know K850 runs with JP-8 and k800 in JP-7).

BUT for the moment i thought C905 would come with some new JP-10 platform, because of the picture with the "false" JP-10-writing.
and after i read your post, it sounded weird that suddenley would "jump" from JP-8 to JP-10..............cheers

That is the best looking phone Ive seen EVER. I thought the N95 would never be beaten for looks but the 905 does it for me. Features wise it brings a huge grin to my face!!

On the new 6220c the caller image is larger than K850's caller image.
It nearly covers the whole screen, except for the status & softkey bar.

@ plankgatan
Btw the 6220c powers up faster than the K850i

i did a compare between my old N82 (who i had for 3 days) and my K850...

the N82 i had was quite fast, but much more unlogic interface-design, also i didnt like the look of the interface (compared to K850 beatiful A200), about the themes i think they look aweful compared to K850.

i have never tried 6220, etc have no idea how much better/logic the interface design is compared to N82, but what i understand is quite the same as N82....or ????

A UI/Interface should be easy, beatiful and fast to use, and there is Sonyericsson with their Javabased easily number one (of all brands)...thats my oppinion.
