F**King SE.
strange.... ok, if it is a T68mc it can't be upgraded... but if it is T68m it's no problem upgrading it with the MMS software... have you been in contact with

yes, it's true, Nobody in China mainland can upgrade to R2E, I have upgrade my T68 in Beijing yestoday, the sw version is R2D005. If you call the customer service ring, she will say "T68 and T68i is different, I don't know the newest version, you can ask the servicepoint". Then I arrived servicepoint and ask what is the newest version, they said "R2D005".

The most important reality is that China SE don't admit the T68 can be convert to T68i by upgraded software, they think it is market strategy that upgrade T68 to T68i in different country.

Anyone know where to get the upgrade in the US? I've called VoiceStream(T-Mobile) and AT&T and neither of them even know what I'm talking about. AT&T sells the T68i now but the stores and CS I've checked with don't have the upgrade.
Thanks!

Hi everybody. I've recently upgrade my T68m which originally have firmware R2D to T68i R5D, by myself. I have a post describing the details:
http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=12114&forum=17 . Well, Actually all model of T68 can exchange their firmware, no matter they are T68m, T68mc, T68i, or T68ie. I've proved this by flashing my T68m into a T68ie. As I've said in many forums(yes, because most of them don't believe that i can flash the phone without emma2, without service card, without hardlock...blah blah blah...), the reason why you are told that your T68m or T68mc can't be upgraded is JUST because SE don't allow you to do that "officially". There is no more other reasons. If there were really some hardware incompatiblity, my flashing would have been failed. So if you really want to upgrade your phone, but SE don't let you to do so, try "ericsclient". I eventually find out that it is a "invincible" software. In USA, there is a guy "Robb" who is famous in flashing phone. He told me that a T68m can't be upgraded to T68ie, but now, I've flashed it, and everythings goes fine. I can use all the functions, without any faults. Therefore, read through the thread I posted thoroughly, learn about how to flash the phone yourself. I can say that, it's actually not so dangerous to flash your phone, if you've really done enough learning about it. Enjoy flashing!

HanneZ > confirmed

I got the R5D007 today, as I have still had a few 'misshaps' with my phone...
my T68(i) still shuts off, in keylock mode, if the NO key is held for +8 secs. or so (and the upgrade still doesn't fix this issue

)...
BUT... thereafter I was loosing my phonenumber list of names in the menu, eventhough they were still keept in the memory...
wonder if anyone has had this happen also ?
I'm just glad to be able to keep updating... my phone seems to be getting more 'stabile' every time.
Still the T68's rule!!! Have the MCA-20 cam... a bit slow, but MMS works well with it, nice... if we could get some more servers running incl. TDC - dk's largest phone carrier.
The P800 and 7650 seem to have some problems with the pictures (curvatures etc.) from what I have read, so I hope my humble T68(i) will serve his master (me

) just a bit more here in life...
GO
Cheers,
Gnuig (Copenhagen, DK)
