@oli

isn't known for good cameras anymore? i beg to disagree mate.
one mistake of

(k850) doesn't erase the fact that k700, k750 and k800 revolutionized mobile imaging.

is still and will be the best cameraphone maker.

I suppose so Crossmatched. I was basing my opinion solely on the 5MP K850i blunder. I guess going on their experience before that phone, we can expect better from them with the next Cyber-shots.

Which is another reason to expect the X1 to have a good camera!

i really do hope

starts to bring back the CCD sensors! (s700 was a great cameraphone) and employ qualitative glass lenses.
its high time that CYBERSHOT branding live up to its legacy

they should just whack the k800 camera module on the x1.

Most high-quality cameras usually come from SE.
VGA: K700
1.3mp: S700
2mp: K750 and it's gang members
3mp: K800, C702 and the rest
-But the usual history of very good SE reputation on the imaging geeks had changed when K850 embarrases the SE camera lineup. bastard K850!
If only SE would make a true S700 successor packed with CCD(again) and AF...

and reduce the N-R program

Just put a CCD sensor on it and there will be much less of a need for an N-R program(which in case increases development cost since SE should still pay for a programmer to develop a better N-R algorithm) on it. CCD produces finer less noisy images than CMOS at the same size. And also the fact that SE could simply use standard Sony CCD Sensors which gives them lesser development cost.

tulad ni razec...
off topic: imo k850 really embarrassed

, much more the Cybershot branding
p990 and k850 are mistakes that should not be repeated again!

I dont' know why some insist on having CCD rather than CMOS, infact CMOS can be much better in some cases, I didn't say CMOS is better but it's better some times, tobe honest both are equal in image quality at this time, it was old days when CMOS was not that much but now both are equal, except in low light where CCD is better
to prove what CMOS can do, take a look at 'Canon 1Ds Mark III' & 'Canon 5D' & 'Sony Alpha A700' all are Pro or Simi Pro DSLR cameras and ALL are using CMOS sensors !!
infact both are same, but CMOS can work with fewer components and uses lower power + it's smaller than CCD in the same pixel count, these two things are very valuable in mobilephones.. maybe the third one is problomatic, as smaller sensors makes more noise, but in mobile phones where space is precious, larger sensors will need more focal length too and bigger lens and and and, this is bad in mobile phone
just a question, comparing to other's manufacturers 5MP solutions, what are they using CMOS or CCD to have better picture than

's 5MP solutions ? well I think

have to choose better higher quality sensors only no matter of CMOS or CCD...

we have covered that already here

I have a question for ya,find how many consumer cameras (not DSLR) have CMOS sensors..
