@amawanqa

At the NTT stand - was the SO903i on display at all? What did you think of the rest of the NTT range? Are they all quite big clamshells?

@goldenface: Just judging from the pictures that da wanqsta posted those clamshells look massive...I've also noticed that they seem to love the "blingin" look in the Far East.

We have a scouser in our midst..! LOL, hi goldenface, and welcome. Nice of you to drop in here.
Unfortunately the NTT SO903i was nowhere to be seen ; it would've been quite easy to spot with its distinctive outer keypad, but no luck.
I might go back to the show again this afternoon in case the NTT boys have hauled out something lurking in their corporate pockets that wasn't bandied about yesterday, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. Brix was right about the size of them though; they are quite long handsets, easily the length of a larger candybar form phone, and that's with the flip closed too. They are thinner than any of the usual SE flip phone offerings though, but not anywhere near svelte Samsung Ultra-Edition proportions.

EDIT: The range of options in each menu and sub-menu was quite impressive on these handsets, and in true Nippon-gadget fashion, a lot of animations and flashing, changing lights within these sub-menus as well. They seemed easy to navigate (even though I never had a cooking clue what the writing said), but they were rather 'busy' with all the peripheral things on display in these menus.

@ wanqa, thanx for all the pics...looks pretty cool, but it seemed to be a more technical show: i actually like those type of shows a lot, just means less yuppies there.

So I have been cut, will hopefully get that sorted out today...Quite a hard life without my phone working....

@ Francois,
Yup, all the programming boffins were in the vast majority there, as this is who the show targets in particular, and as such my rather limited knowledge of programming made much of the show technically 'over my head'; I was just marvelling at the finished articles as such.

I'm still in two minds whether to go back there later this afternoon.

EDIT: I was wondering what you meant with you got 'cut', (don't you want kids?! LOL, jokes...) until you mentioned being without your phone line.

Great pix and a very informative report, Wanqa. Been tied up with the usual last-term humdrum, and to cap it all i seem to have mislaid my buddy's marriage certificate! Seems as if he's still single, whether he likes it or not

Thanks guys.

I did not get round to the show again today; far too much workload to get through. Oh well, I can't complain too much.

In pseudo 'Q' voice: "Right, now pay attention 007":
Da Wanqsta obtained er...generous handfuls of freebies at the show, most notably loads of genuine and S60 lanyards and straps.
Why? To sell in esato's market section or eBay? Mindless hording? Nah, why should only people in the EU get all the stuff?! Saak that!

So where's this leading? Below is a pic of the 4 different types of lanyards and straps that I've got handfuls of from the show. The genuine orange ones don't have the Walkman logo on them, even if they're in 'Walkman Orange'. The small black one at the bottom is one of the Opera browser phones straps.

Now then, for this SA forum's members only, if you see one or two that you like, PM me your PO Box/ postal address (I can address it to your username with the address, if you want ) and I will post it/ them to you... no charge or catch; you can take it as an early gift from Wanqa Claus!
(Mario 2k+, you already have a few that I sent with the S60 stuff posted to you last year.)

I can post them next week, and if they are not 'intercepted' by any unfaithful SA postal workers, they should get to you the week after.
Let me know if you want any of these:

Regards,
Wanqa the Wonderful.

PS: the S60 and UIQ sweets in the lower pic are mine...all mine!!!!!

@da wanqsta: That's too generous. So you're not even asking for postage?
I'm really knackered this evening...was running around like Kunte Kinte trying evade capture.

@ da brixsta,
Agh nooit; a Pound or 2 here and there is not gonna leave me on a diet of baked beans on toast for the rest of the month; hell no, you can stick me a Black Label when I'm next in CT.
Hell, I'm earning good money, I don't see it as too generous...it's great just knowing that I can get stuff like this for people other than just the EU countries; I've always championed fairness and anti-monopoly controls...why should they get everything here?!
Help yourselves.
