The SMS-Archive is profile-dependent so you have to export/import the messages to/from a file.

I use the vista sidebar gadget. I install the software but once i reboot. the gadget is gone. I have to re-install the software to get it back again. In the next installation, can you have it set to keep the sidebar gadget after you reboot? I will post pics in soon to show you the error message i am getting.
This is with vista x64 ultimate. Works fine otherwise.
Edit: This is what i get when i reboot. Does anybody know of a fix for this other than re-installing?

I know about this issue but i don't know how to fix it. Could you try please if you can register it again with regsvr32.exe ? the file which is not registred is located in the programdirectory of MyPhoneExplorer in subfolder "DLL", the file is called "mpe_gadget_connector.dll". Its a 32bit-Library and i think this makes the problems with the gadget.

I registered the file, but it did not work. Sorry. It's not a big deal. I just don't use the sidebar gadget. Is this a vista or a x64 issue?

Its a x64-issue. I have developed and tested the gadget on a normal vista-PC (not x64). I think its strange that the gadget works after installation cause the setup does also a normal registering for the file. Not more and not less. Did you remove the gadget before registering and add it again after registering ?

Once you reboot, it doesn't even show up as a valid sidebar gadget. You have no way to add it again. It's like once you reboot, vista "forgets" about it. Thanks anyway.

The files for the gadget are located on C:\\Programs\\Windows Sidebar\\gdagets\\myphoneexplorer.gadget
Maybe the path differs a littlebit on x64.
Please backup the gadget after installation and restore it after the reboot. Its hard for me to give you good support since i have no testmachine. But if you play a littlebit around maybe you find a solution. I would be also interested in a solution cause there are many x64-users.

I think i figured a little bit out. On x64 bit systems, all non 64 bit applications get stored in c:\\program files (x86) instead of c:\\program files. Only x64 applications get stored in c:\\program files. The gadget gets stored at C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Windows Sidebar\\gdagets\\myphoneexplorer.gadget.
I moved it from C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Windows Sidebar\\gdagets to C:\\Program Files\\Windows Sidebar\\gdagets and it showed up as a valid gadget. (but doesn't work right. Just blank) I am going to reboot and see if it stays now. I think the reboot issue has to do with the fact that on x64 bit systems, there is two program files folders. If rebooting doesn't fix it, i might force the install to c:\\program files and see if that tricks the system. Thanks for your help!

Did not work. I get the gadget to stay but it just says the connector not installed. Is there a manual way to install the gadget connector?
