That article was based on rumours.
They (the magazine) are a little more careful now writing of new SE phones. Like the 3MP camera, builtin GPS antenna, 3G, QVGA phone Wilma, but they are clear to point out it is based on rumours.

I don't understand why everyone is so anxious. even in the previous p-series phones se had never stood up to the release date. it always went beyond their predictions. and to tell you the truth, even if the realease date was on time it would go even furher depanding on shipping from country to country. I have purchased all the p-series phones and from what I remember i would get it a month after the official se release from my provider. the conclusion is that history keeps repeating itself over and over again......

This is the longest span in between series thus far. So if anything else, I think this anxiety is warranted. This new unit has finally materialized some of the promises that were rumored to be available with the current releases (i.e. WiFi). I purchased all my P-series sim free which gives some of us a chance to play around with it before most people that wait for the mobile carriers to stock them. My last P-series purchase was in the second week of September 2004. Would you not say that this is the longest drought for a an avid P-series owner? I'm sure newbies may not have the same expectations. However, we will be at the tail end of Q1 2006 before this unit is available. I'm not surprised that anything is being pushed back. That is to be expected of any industry.

I was due to upgrade last October but I have been waiting for the release of the P990 hoping for it to be available by now, if the release date is to be May it looks like I will be getting the Orange SPV M5000 & wait for the P1000 or sell the SPV on ebay & my P910 to buy a sim free P990 when it's all sorted out

i have a friend that owns a se service center here in my hometown, and from the given information from se hellas (greece) he is informed that se will launch the phone as planned in Q4 of 2006 until now there have been no changes to that information. so i'll stick to that information rather than beleive the '' unspecific'' rumors that go around on the net from poeple and news that are unreliable. in general.... ''in se we trust''
