my w910i's sliding mechanism scratches the phone, both on the front of the bottom part, and on the back of the top part

Since i sent my w910i back for repair ive gone back to my w850i... And now i'm not sure that i want the w910i back. It feels nice to have a phone that doesn't feel like it will shatter into pieces if it falls a foot, a speaker that is loud and clear, oh and doesn't feel the need to turn off every 5 minutes. Also the w850i took the 8gb m2 (with adapter) flawless without a single delay between putting the card in and using the walkman.

The w910i is a stunning phone i just wish the se had put more behind the w910i.
Its always been that you got a w-series for music to die for, with camera's that sill worked the way they should (w810i), and the k-series for photo's to drool over with the minimal focus behind the music, with it still being listenable.

Now what was the highest end walkman had a terible camera that has got worse as the line developed, where as the latest cyber-shot phones have the "music player" witch to me may as well have walkman screaming at you, (since when have cyber-shots had "mega base" witch was one of the main things that set the walkman phones IMHO).

Rant over...
i just think that the balance the se has always had spot on, is failing.

is this just me, or are there others who also feel that this is the case?

I agree with you completely., I just did not buy another w850 'cause I could not find one, and if I did find one it was also about 400 euros in Spain!!!

Yeah I'm beginning to believe SE should drop the whole "Walkman phone" or "Cyber-shot phone" thing. They should make a "Sony Ericsson phone" which features "Walkman music player" and "Cyber-shot camera". That way people don't have to choose. It wouldn't be a W or C series, something new. That way they can still use their brands to market the phones, but the user doesn't lose any functionality!

i think they will not do that. its a part of their marketing strategy...
its like this
"if you want this, buy this"
"if you also want this then buy this also"
get my point?
