p.s. check the ISO speed of both pictures and you'll that there's something wrong with the way the camera button works...

actually there is nothing wrong with the ISO speed,
ISO speed increase to compensate vibrations/ movements..
that means, your hands is more stable on dpad.

Try reinstalling the firmware. When I received mine there were black lines flickering across 3/4 of the screen. Reinstalled the firmware and everything was fine after. Not seen your pics yet cos i'm viewing Esato wap atm. Just wondering if somethings happened during transport. I've also heard that the manufacturer has been known to leave a plastic film on the lens which they should have removed causing blurry pics.

@mriley. As you know. I bought my C901 from rose and there hasn't been a problem with it. Only thing i've done is change the firmware from Middle East/Africa to Generic Western Europe. Other than that everything on the phone is spot on. Its the first Sony Ericsson phone i've owned in a long time that i've not had any complaints about.

I think some pictures are out of focus. Some C901 users, and I've also experienced this problem. I don't think that's a hardware problem, because sometimes it's precise. I've already reported it to Sony Ericsson, just like the problem that in poor lighting conditions you can't adjust the exposure correction to be brighter, you can make it only darker. They replied that they repoted it to the competent department.
So I think it's a software related problem, and the focusing isn't well optimized. I hope updates will help, which I'm waiting for.
But, some pictures are blurry because the long exposure time. This phone lacks the Image stabilizator, but the Sports mode helps...
By the way, I like this phone, and besides these little problems it's camera is really good.

RE: Focus Problem. You just described every

phone released since the A200 platform first came about. Some phones still haven't had these problems resolved. It seems that you got the standard

reply as well.
RE: Image Stabiliser. There is one on the phone but unfortunately its just for the Video recording feature.
I too hope that software updates will improve certain bugs in the phone and there are a few but only minor ones. Some have even been present on every A200 platform

phone and they haven't done a thing to sort them out.

Some to show the usage of the xenon flash.. In "auto+flash off" and low light the phone picks iso400 and the pics get kind of ugly and noisy. If you choose night-portrait instead the phone chooses half the iso and a longer exposure time instead.
With flash activated we get a little brighter pics in night-portrait mode instead of auto.
New toy
Night portrait-no flash
Auto with flash
Night portrait with flash
No flash

No flash

My glass table with etched logo, can barely bee seen normally
hope this helps c901 users get better night pics as you can see huge improvement here
