BigD I'm not encouraging you to root your phone but Id just like to say the first time doing a root procedure or flashing is terrifying.Then once you do it you realise it pretty straightforward.Its what you do afterwards is what could cause the problems.My first attemp at using Typefresh (used for changing fonts) was disatrous.Phone wouldn't bootup past logo.Learnt a big lesson.Take your time and read the instructions carefully.I had missed a Line.Rooting ain't essential.Itsjust a must for me because of the changing fonts.Also Barnacle Wifi Tether to tether with my netbook.

Just a heads up,I've never gotten Wifi Tether to work on the X10.It says there's a Kernel issue.Give it a try though and let me now if it works for you.
Barnacle Wifi Tether works great though.

@Hobbs Sure buddy. I'll get back to you on that.

Am using Z4root as I'm using MAC OSX so can't use superone click.

Also I want to know, what is the purpose of Market Widget? I mean it shows no info. When I click on the widget, it directs to market that's about it!

Guys anybody knows how to uninstall stock apps after rooting?

I searched on XDA, there is an article of removing apps via Windows and am using MAC OSX

On question on 2.1. The email client now displays emails with a red mark on the left hand side. I presumed this meant unread (like the green mark in 1.6) however unread emails are also displayed with a colour over the whole mail subject. So what does the red mark mean - or is this a quirk in 2.1?

If you have more than one email account on your phone the different accounts will be displayed with different colour. In the combined inbox you can then easily see which email address the mail was sent to. (In your account inbox all emails will have the same colour)

@Indiandawg

Install Titanium Backup by Joel Bourquard, you will need to install BusyBox by Stericson too. Then open Titanium Backup touch 'Backup-Restore' and touch the app you want to uninstall then touch 'Un-install !'. I suggest you back-up what you have first though. Good luck!
