well..hi all... i seem to have a problem...need help..
3 months ago i bought a bluetooth dongle (IVT Blue Soleil)... and for 3 months i was merrily transferring stuff to and fro from my P910 and my T610 to my noteook without any hitch...
Well since a couple of days suddenly i haven't been able to connect to my notebook, both phones say "Connection Failed", though the bluetooth icon on my taskbar still says "bluetooth started and active"... and i checked the properties for the connection and my notebook claims the connection is active...same thing happened a month ago, but on restarting my notebook, it started working perfectly without any problem...
This time nothing seems to work... and somehow i made an effort today to look behind my notebook (yes, i am lazy) at the connected dongle and noticed it doesn't blink anymore... i have tried jiggling it, tapping it, cleaning it, but nope- it still doesn't blink... and as far as i recall i haven't dropped it, banged it, drowned it, burned it or traumatised it in any way.. and neither does it look damaged or anything...
So i am wondering if any similar thing has happened to any of u guys using a bluetooth dongle... is there something i should be trying? Like uninstalling bluetooth from my notebook and reinstalling all the drivers again? (i'm hoping some settings of my USB port have been disturbed unknowingly) Because i don't want to believe that this tiny, little dongle would just die on me like that...
And yes, i have bought the dongle with bill.. and the guy said there's a warranty of one year on it.... but 2 things are preventing me from going back to the place where i bought it from:
1) I am not sure that the dongle itself is at fault.
2) I bought it from a shop within the INOX multiplex at nariman point and i stay pretty far from it... so i'm too lazy to go there.
well, any advice? Thanks.
P.S: If, by chance, any one of u is the guy who works at the electronic shop at INOX - @$#%**!

Thanks Vineet. I should take it to Tardeo. I gave it to the guys at Khar this morning, and they have not been able to figure out anything yet. I am very suspicious of their capabilities bec the person said that scratches on the metal charging contacts can damage the phone :-)

@ooga-mooga - i dont think there might be a problem with the drivers or the OS or anything like that unless you have made any changes to your PC/Laptop. Might be a h/w fault, i suggest you take it to the shop no matter how lazy u are and get it fixed
@govi - did u check it out ?
