bongzino, agree. I don't mind if some phones don't have the branding, but atleast they could all have the same media player. It's a bit of a cop out that the mediaplayer on the K750 is short on features compared to the w800.

Walkman system is an extra feature and so such models can partially be produced as the subject suggests. Whats the need of a w230 or w610 ? This message was posted from a WAP device

Is that photoshoped or is it real?
Looks like a K-series phone.

My opinios is that walkman phones should have the extra branding and some extra music futures but non walkman branded phones should still have a good musicplayer and music buttons to be able to compete with the other manufacturers and with other portable music players.

excuse me?

are we missing a lens cover for the W810? point proved.

Listen, i am trying to have a civil debate here. this is nothing personal, i like SE, but in all honesty, the walkman is the right way to go, but are sony ericsson going over the top? 5 walkman phones? the nokia n series is being released with quite a few phones but they all have different features that are good and even the W900 has no lens cover or much eagerly anticipated 3.2 megapixel cam

I also didn't understand this walkman thing. My argument was, 'can't all the other non walkman phone have good media player to overcome this walk man player.'
I also think like the other guy said, they need to include advanced features on non-walkman phones too.

there shouldn't be a need... it's a waste of resources to develop 2 apps.. they just need to not advertise it on the phone...

It's not the actual Walkman feature that annoys me, but the emphasis on the walkman brand on SE phones (through their design and advertising).

To be honest i really wouldn't mind if all the SE phones had the Walkman featured music player, so long as the feature isn't the main attraction of all or most of their phones. In my opinion they've made too many walkman branded phones, and the others that aren't walkman branded are either old or don't have new features such as a megapixel camera with autofocus.

They need to make more of a balance and create more phones that are based less on the walkman brand, but more on the SE brand which still incorporates the advanced features dominated by the walkman phones (megapixel camera) and maybe even the walkman player (features on this player are outbeaten!)

i totally agree! why should the word 'walkman' be plastered everywher!

I have to disagree with that. The iPod, with its stock headphones may not produce the best sound quality but the sound chips used in iPods are superior to many you get on high quality Creative sound cards. The Apollo in Manchester use an iPod to play backing music, have a look in the sound booth on the ground floor, you'll see it hooked into the sound contol panel.

I do agree with the walkman point though, if there will be no successor to the S700 then i will be very disappointed indeed!

Guys, guys, guys...
There are only 4 walkman labels on the w810 and on the side it says walkman...
Then u have the usual walkman boot screen...
How could this overpower the little Sony Ericsson label @ the back???

Anyway it says Sony Ericsson @ the front and @ the back
