@ freworld4u
Tried out the last settings given out by you. But unfortunately it got charged. I'm from Hyderabad and tried out apn=mms.s.po instead of apn=mms.e.po as mentioned by you.
Do keep us posted on any new settings for free GPRS.
BTW, for my GPRS, I had downloaded the settings from SE site and my GPRS is working witout any activation.

i put my uncle's bsnl sim (with gprs already activated) in my phone, just to compare the speed with airtel's. Within a minute of starting up, bsnl recognised my phone as a 6670 and sent the gprs settings of its own accord
considering all the troubles you went thru to get those settings, this seems ridiculous!
ironically, those setting did not work and my uncle dropped the idea of mobile internet even tho he was ready to pay

@girish_uce have u just activated portal or the full gprs!!
becoz as far as my knowledge goes, acitvatin portal only doesn't allows you to send mms!
and it was smart of u tat u got the settings from se site and didn't relied on the cc's
@stayback i meant to say tat, in the profile of portal , i deleted the field of apn tat is celloneportal , so now the apn filed was emtpy or null , it had nothin written, then i tried connectin and the site wap.cellone.in opened witout any error!
so i was askin tat has anybody got any idea how can the connection be established without authenticatin the apn!

@ stayback
Its BSNL. Sorry about not being clear about that.
@ shivam007
U can directly download the settings from SE site. U get the settings to your phone directly and need not manually configure any settings. The settings are installed automatically.
There are separate settings for MMS too

BSNL speed at Hyderabad is around 5/7 kbps at peak hours (even when the normal mobile network is clogged)
