When I down load the microsoft program that you linked to, and then 'run' it to instal, it comes up with this
"Error: Can not install on a 64-bit operating system"
"This product is not supported on a 64-bit operating system. Setup will now exit."

Which is totaly weird because isn't that exactly what that program is for?

So I don't know what to do... Microsoft isn't being my friend :*(

That's a scary question! hehe

I started working on it in... i think july. I've taken breaks for a couple of weeks one or two times, otherwise it's in bits of free time and weekends. Need to spend time with the gf and relax too though. It's not too bad because i work freelance professionally, so my actual job's hours are quite flexible, except around deadlines. If i had to guess, i'd say i've put in well over 100 hours work on M3. I don't like to think about that!

I made M3 because i wanted an automated all-in-one solution for video and audio on my phone, that i could just load a list of files into and leave to run. I was also pretty bloody sure i could get better video/audio quality for my phone that the commercial conversion apps are providing! So M3 has met those goals for me.

I still work on it for features other people want (that i end up using too, hehe), and just for the challenge of making it all work perfectly. I kinda like it when people ask if i could add something, it's a puzzle to solve! Beats doing sudoku.

Johnex:

M3 has an auto update feature. When a new version is available, it'll ask you if you want to upgrade the next time M3 runs. I'll start updating the thread title for people without net connections on the machine m3 runs from though.

shrubba:

you can try this:

http://www.microsoft.com/down[....]FB-40E78D788B00&displaylang=en

but it appears to only be for x64 .net applications. Worth a try though, you never can tell from the MS descriptions. It will definitely install for you though.

Yeah it sounds a lot, but over 4-5 months it's really not so bad.

Besides there's finally a donate button now, to reward me for all that work and the rest of it to come, hehe. hint hint!

i've got 2 sides of A4 listing features yet to add, so M3 really is far from finished just yet.

Sweet!! It runs now!!! I used the 64-bit software you just linked to, and that did it! I'm now attempting to convert season 3 episode 6 of lost to test it out.

Thanks so much!!!!!

Mysh your programme is just a bomb. I've installed it yesterday night and tested it immediately by converting a full dvd : B13 (Banlieue 13), a French action movie with spectacular Kung-fu scenes.
I just could not believe my eyes. The quality is amazing... never seen that before on a mobile phone.

And by the way, I already have two complete converting programmes : SE Media Studio and Movie Jack Mobile... both good but from very low class compared to your M3.

Ok I gotta say the movie after conversion was 415 MB, probably because I've chosen the best quality in the settings.
Now I realize that I'll never have enough free time to watch a full movie on my phone (and I've to spare my eyes too). So I was wondering if I could split the movie in small pieces...
I've seen that there is a possibility to split movies in small chunks, but how is the output then ? Do we get them numbered 1, 2, 3... etc ? Sorry mate I've not tried that option yet !!! And what about music dvd's ? Is there a way to select a start and end converting time so that you can only convert one music clip for instance ? For your info, that option is possible with Audiograbber (a free software for converting music in mp3) : please download it and see what I mean.

Also, because I've only converted one movie so far. This was in 4:3, what format should I use to get the image filling my P990i screen completely, without those black bars above and at the bottom of the movie ?

Mysh I don't know how to thank you... well I'm gonna make a donation via Paypal to encourage you keeping doing the good job and share it with us.

Last but not least (sorry man I didn't explore all the possibilities of your M3 yet), is there a tab or button from where we can update the software to the latest version ?

Thanks for your precious time and help.

César

Small chunks are very good solution I use it all the time. Output is name_1, name_2 etc. For DVD movie usually 2 chunks.

Last version already has start and end converting time.

I too sometimes have those black bars (frames) depending on original movie (mostly without them). Maybe somebody know how to overcome this.

If you are connected to the internet update to a new version (if any) goes automatically.

Hi guys, if your movie has the black bars (letterboxing) encoded into the original movie picture, M3 already has a setting to remove this.

Select the movie in the file list in M3, then go to the Video tab.

You'll see a setting called "Widescreen video:"

Change this to "Remove existing 4:3 Letterbox".
