> P990i: r9 (new) firmware problem list
Bookmark topic
Just had my first reset since the update.
Wi-Fi on, reading RSS feeds and occasionally opening the Opera browser, no music or FM radio, SM Pro running.
Application: Main, Esock_Client, Reason: 0
This happened once before but without the reset. The phone had been on for about 4-5 days and the idle RAM was around 7.5 MB. It looks like the P990 is loosing roughly 0.5 MB RAM per day. The memory leak still need some serious work.

The problem below is fairly easy to reproduce. This happens to me regularly because I don’t use the WLAN feature (disabled) and I frequently use the flight mode option.
1.Disable WLAN
2.Put the phone on flight mode
3.When you take the phone out of flight mode the WLAN option is re-enabled. If you click the WLAN icon the phone restarts; after the restart, the WLAN is disabled and the phone works fine. So far this scenario is the only thing that has caused a restart for me.

Just has a problem with the R9 firmware which I have never had before ;
Phone was ringing so I press the answer button and the phone reset itself and so I missed the call!
I've had this happen to be 3 times since my upgrade (R7 to R9). I've done a master reset today maybe it will help.
I will update my previous reply. The same scenario happened to me today. Phone rings, I press "Yes" and it restarts. The call was logged correctly though. I was not running any other applications and the memory should have been around 13-14 MB as I had my first reset yesterday. This seems to be happening to a number of us so it's not good. I had done an internal format and a master reset before the update, so that wouldn't be a solution for me.

My phone works great after upgrading to R9. Faster- especially evident during video playback, love the stability and it hasn't rebooted to improve performance since the upgrade and the memory management is much better. I do not seem to have any of the problems mentioned in this forum or do not seem to have any problem with certain changes in R9 (ie. 1 sec display of password entry, usb connection choice prompt etc.) since I find them to be quite useful. And I'm enjoying certain functions with FC using the new SMPro 1.30
1 problem though, after i restored my backup, i can't seem to uninstall 3rd party applications. I can uninstall them, but dialogs that request their re-installation keeps popping up. So to have peace of mind, the only thing I could do to make the dialogs go away is to re-install the applications. Anyone experienced this? Any ideas how to solve this?

That problem was mentioned already, and so the solution - delete jad/jar/sys files on the private folder of memory stick

Well, the only bug that is happening to me that is making my P990 restarting in order to improve performance is when I open the Radio in FC mode.
No maters how many memory I have available, it always shut down. If I open i FO, and them minimise and go to FC, it works ok.
One other thing I notice is in messages, you don’t have the option to delete marked messages (SMS and MMS), you have to open them so you can delete it.
In a mail account you have that option.
FW version R4A13.
