Wap Sync for Globe Users

First you must have a working gprs account and an account at truesync.com or fitworld.com. For gprs setting, see my posting on page 2 of "yahoo mail sending for T68 in the Phils" thread and for truesync account, see "successful wap sync" thread.

1. Go to Connect> Synchronization> Server settings and enter the following:
a.Wap profile: profile in Wap Services> Select Profile that is tied up to the gprs account in Connect> Data Comm.
b.Server user id: id you registered at truesync.com
c.Server pwd: pwd you registered
d.Server URL: http://www.truesync.com/servlet/SyncML
e.Calendar Path: ./Event/Events
f.Phonebook path: ./Contact/Unfiled
Note: Id and Pwd in the paths may be left blank. You can sync only one path and can also use the ffg. paths:
Calendar: ./Note/Notes or ./Task/Tasks or whatever you set at your truesync account
Phonebook: ./Contact/Personal or ./Contact/All or whatever you set.
I suggest that you log in to your truesync account and familiarize with the options before doing the sync.
2. Go back to Synchronization> Synchronize> Use Wap.
3."Connecting", "Synchronizing" and "Synchro- nization Complete" should appear succesively if there are no errors. The first sync should take about 5 minutes using gprs.
4. Troubleshooting: R1B software has no problem with the sync. And gateway incompatibility causing errors is very unlikely. Connection is important(signal strength and network traffic). If you end up:
a. Synchronization Failed: Probable cause is setting error upstream of the URL server setting (server URL, id, pwd, gprs or maybe the infos are case sensitive)or both the paths are blank.
b. Synchronization Interrupted: Your T68 paths do not match the settings on your truesync account, connection (signal, traffic,...), server response to the initial packet of data sent by T68 is wrong.

It is very helpful to look at the data sent and received log (Calls> Data Counters) and also observing if the error prompt appears immediately after the "Synchronizing" prompt appeared or after a while. If your error is due to connection problem, it is very probable that the succeeding sync attempt would end up in errors too (even if the settings are correct) because the phone cached the first sync process. You can remove the last letter in the server URL, sync (naturally you will get error), then replace the letter you removed and re-sync.
The above infos are based on my experience and may not be the real reason for the errors but I hope they can help.

Truesync Plus apps is also very useful. You can sync PC, PDAs and your truesync internet planner.

For fitworld.com, you can request an account at http://syncml.fulham.fitworld.com:8888/. Settings are:
1. Server URL: http://syncml.fulham.fitworld.com:8888/syncml/listener
2. Calendar Path: calendar
3. Phonebook path: contact
4. Id and pwd: As given in the email.

The fitworld(Magically, Inc.) server became publicly available earlier than Truesync but I encountered sync problems last week. They must be working on this and may be ok anytime now.

Another Sync ML server worth using is Weblicon. Although they are still working on a wap sync system, you can sync your Outlook with an html apps and view/edit them via wap with your T68. You can read the technical overview at http://www.weblicon.net/e_html/e_technical_syncml.html then register and download the apps at http://www.weblicon.net/e_html/demos_login.html

i bought the t68 on jan 27 at The Hub, PHILIPPINES, globe network locked ,
after 2wks, i noticed that the battery wont FULLY CHARGE,
i brought the t68 to SEMICON in marcos highway for upgrade n check up, i got the celp after 3days, after testing it and charging it i found out that the battery still DOESNT WANT TO FULLY CHARGE

it wont stop charging even after long long hours.... after taking off the charger plug, u will see the battery lacks 1 bar,(not fully charge):x

what's the use of buying EXPENSIVE phone on authorized dealers, when the unit is defective, they will not replace it, they keep on trying to repair it; wasting our manpower and time!!!

buyers beware... u have to check the unit thoroughly. they will give you all the crap in the world informing you that it was your fault that's why the unit becomes like that. either you drop it or did something to it..

i bought my T68 mid-january.
Semicon Southmall.

the first unit i got was defective....
it said "insert correct SIM card" when i powered it ON.

but before that, it was perfectly fine...

i returned it back to Semicon.
the repairmen checked it.
a repairman told me that it was my SIM card that was defective....

then he inserted his SIM card,
then hindi rin gumana!

HAHAHAHAHAHA!
i laughed, pahiya sya eh.

nagdadahilan pa.

so i got a new unit. that day itself that i bought the first one.
