I don't think there's any competition out there ATM, considering the specifications for T650i. maybe indirect ones, yes. but nothing could compete directly with this baby.

no this is better IMO than the 8800. easily on looks, build quality, and spec.

Yes, but why can't there also be a T-phone for us? We did get a US model of the T610 (T616) and T630 (T637).
Besides, quad-band + EDGE means anyone can use it, not just the US. So it's not fair to say the S500 is "just for us."
Why

can't make everything quad-band is beyond me. Even Motorola knows how to do this, while keeping their phones inexpensive.
