Right... I've been playing with it on Nokia e61 for 3 hrs now, and I think it's quite promising:
@BOSSHOGG,
I have no problems with text entry limit; if at all, it's a bit faster (but granted, the mod does it very well ) when entering long text - on official v 3 it'd slow down a bit after 1000 + letters!
The scrolling is very fast, the map overview also much better than on the built nokia/safari browser! Pretty f*cking good! Autozoom is a nice touch...
Not so good: E.g., eato forum page on v3 and mod load at around 10 kb (posts last 24 hrs) ... On dimension it's a whopping 46 kb in "desktop-style", and 16 kb in "fit to screen"... So quite a bit more data traffic - although that may not yet be accurate...maybe they think data plans have become much cheaper since version 1?! but at least it's still bloody fast (so, NO - symbians have no problems).
Fit to screen, btw, currently renders to 240x240 instead of the correct 320x240 for my phone - guess that's a beta-problem (like BOSSHOGG's entry limit? Different phones will obviously deal with different problems until all the feedback's in to finetune/adapt to all the different phones!)...
Cookies, dito, have to log in again and again...
Skins will come - no doubt!
From what I've read this is really just the test built - not half as "finished" as the beta of v3, and supposedly there are more new features in the wing!
I'm quite impressed by how well and fast the fullpage view works, scrolling etc etc better than the oh so acclaim built in browser and better than opera mobile 8.65!!!
i can't wait for the "finished" product!

I have just downloaded beta version and works on k800i, aesthetically it's brill, however without the 2468 navigation it's alas next 2 useless 4 me, my colleagues at work who use official opera mini on k800i have had joysticks broken! I'm currently using the hacked version which i find awesome. Is it really that hard 2 incorporate keypad navigation?

@maggfold
My text entry thing will be due to the fact i'm on a k750, i think the limit is around 450 or something? Everything up to EDIT in my last post was all i could fit. In the modded mini i just press more and next for another page of text

@ajeetpv
Yeah but it doesn't have 2468-5 navigation,it's useless without 5 for links, and they've not made 4/6 page up/down, and 2468 doesn't work in settings which can sometimes be a nightmare on the stick.

Posting this via dimension: login seems fine now - didn't have to re-login to write this - so it seems they're fiddling and tuning as we speak!
@BOSSHOGG: Text entry limit on my e61 and treo 750v (it works on that one as well) and n91 and my wife's w810i is: 5524!
Also changed in the last couple of hours has the load bar showing kb: it's now similar to what I'm used to - e.g. Esato main forum page 8 kb !
Maggflodd
p.s. Gee - scrolling etc is soooo fast and smooth
great! (now bring on opera mobile 9!!! Now with widgets etc...can't wait!)

@bosshogg, previously there were no horizontal scrolling so 4/6 were used for page up/down. Now when there are two dimension scrolling are present, 4/6 are used for horizontal one and joystick for page up/down.

Are you sure it's 5000 on a w810? That sounds a bit much, have you tried typing that much?

Yeah, i know about the horizontal scrolling, doesn't excuse the lack of 5 button, plus when you change to fit to width it still seems to leave a tiny bit of horizontal scrolling for some odd reason.

Apologies if my last post wasn't clear but BOSSHOG has explained further about the lack of the 5 key in selecting links. From my point of view i don't want 2 use the joystick at all, just like in the hacked version. This is also why i refrain from using the native browser on k800. The beta version is only good 4 viewing static screens but we all know the internet is dynamic. That was my initial point, is it really so hard 2 incorporate this? I just hope that this is addressed in time 4 the k850..
