hmmnn.., im burned out with the p990 and im actually considering an iphone come time it will be released here in singapore but after i read things about w960i.. lemme give se one more chance.
i would get a w960i for sure.
i dont care about business card scanner.. the last time i scanned a business card was when i bought it new for testing purposes.. only if it can scan documents and save it as a doc file, now that's what we call a cool feature to make advantage of the ocr software pre-installed.

I think a LOT of ppl that have the potential quid to by either or both are making their decisions to purchase either for the WRONG reasons.
1> Remember the P1i is a flagship (they tell us its not then why make it a P phone; think they plan on segmenting? NOPE). This is a BUSINESS phone intended to replace a laptop, and office phone for globetrotters
Sure it adds a cam & music & video playback but its STILL a business communication tool first & foremost. Don't loose site of it.
2> W960 is a KING media device for music & video! Nuff said.
I STILL think a jump from 4-8GB was just too little. I was expecting maybe 16GB flash but load this bad bwoy with features to the tits!
STill good either choice.

I'm guessing the P1i and the W960 have defined the "flagship" media phones. SE seems to have abandoned the M-series and just went with the known P-series.
If past price points are indicative of anything, I think SE will price the P1i well below the W960 (just like the M600 was priced well below the W950)
Most business users will not need 8GB for basic email and surfing, so they will not appreciate having to pay a LOT more for 8GB... if they do need it, they have the option to upgrade via M2 cards.
I was never fond of qwerty keyboards on small devices... not on my P910, not on the Treo, not on the iPhone. I'm faster with multi-tap with one hand, and much more comfortable with handwriting if I have to use 2 hands. So even though I was gonna go for the P1i, the W960 seems to be a good option now since I prefer the larger traditional keypad on the W960.
What I would like to know is this... to anyone who has access to both phones and full -final- specs...seeing as how the web specs aren't correct yet.
Other than the qwerty keyboard and M2 slot... what does the P1i have that the W960 doesn't?
The web specs get confusing since the W960 specs say that it can't play videos, no Bluetooth or IR, no SMS or MMS (obviously something's wrong here)
**The guy in the youtube video looks like he doesn't really know how to use the phone, and appears to be clumsy around touchscreen phones...**

Hmm, since you put it this way I can agree. BUT media is STILL what the W960 is for hence the walkman interface, Shake feature, etc.

Sorry dude but I'll believe anyone saying THIS if they have a 4 minute video to PROOVE it. OR if you're a VERY SLOW hunt & peck-peck on a regular PC keyboard due to lack of memory of keypad OR you familiar more with QWERTZ keypad. Qwerty key phones are KING on a smartphone when 2+chained SMS, Email, document creation/editing are concerned.

We may find the W960 SKYROCKET in price or even delayed if memory pricing jumps due to a major memory manufacturing plant burns down.

Differencies between W960i and P1i:
- 8GB internal memory instead of expandable M2
- No IR-Port on W960i
- Keyboard design / solution
- Touchscreen
- Walkman Touch PlayerŽ (Not Walkman Player 3.0!)
All other specs are the same. And yes, the W960i also has the business card reader.
