As a member of the MR forums I have to say this whole business has been very nasty & I can only hope that MR website returns to the net sooner rather than later.

@ goldenface
What does Eldars personality have to do with my comment?
What I tried to say is that the only thing we know for a fact is that M-R is under DDOS attacks. There's been no proof of who is behind it but still people are blaiming this on Apple fanboys.

@ SMS
What am I not accepting?
I'm not an Apple fanboy but I do prefer their OS over Windows and their iPod over other mp3players (mainly because I enjoy design).
All I'm trying to say is that I hope people stay open minded about this rather than taking a easy way to bash a product/company/person(s) just because there's been a rumour about who might be behind this attack.

I offered Eldar a secure mirror, however he hasn't replied to me yet.

hello everyone. lots of people i recognise.
i hope the culprits get caught and forced to use the iPhone for all eternity in a room full of Apple chairs, Apple wallpaper, a mac with typical overheating problems, Apple posters, and even an Apple shrine to King Jobs. yes, i know that that is considered to be a punishment worse than death that causes madness in all normal folk, but the punishment fits the crime .

This is what your not accepting Odel, the proof, what's the proof, well, riddle me this:

Odel calls you and tells you he will kill your wife, then you get back home to find your wife dead! who're you gonna blame?

you get the idea, Odel.

@brightspark
well, you're punishing them by making their dream come true , but anyway, part of their punishment is that they bought an iphone (sorry Odel, don't hate me, I'm just kidding )

Doesn't prove he did it though, does it?

It's funny how everyone always say's Apple products are designed for less technically minded people, yet performing a successful DDOS attack is a considerably technically challenging task. I seriously doubt many Apple users would even know how to do it.

How many people here would know how, and could actually do it?

Just because an email says it comes from someone representing a particular group of people, doesn't mean it actually did.

Have you ever considered the fact it could be from Windows/Linux/ZX81 users wanting to divert attention away from themselves?

Anyone can do a DOS attack, and i can even do the more advanced Distributed DOS attack, you just need the right tools, its not a big deal, and its not hacking, sorry. Hacking would be brute forcing mobile-review's ftp, downloading the source, and removing everything from the server. Then, hacking into the database and copying it, then removing it.

So yes, even the apple kiddies can do it too, since the tools you need can be compiled for BSD (mac).
