well i was on *generic trade INDIA* firmware, but coudnt wait long for the new firmware so went ahead and changed the version to world generic 1 through xeus++ . it went very smoothly.

from what i notice so far, i see

*white outline to text and the triangle on the mid right of the screen. really helpful for dark themes. for eg. horizon

*love the larger size of letters on the online keyboard. a big ++

*Transitions- very fast compared to what it was earlier.

*Program open a tad bit faster compared to the 1st firmware upgrade.

*Camera- the Zoom and brightness sliders are different. the green tint also seems to have gone (need to check in the morning again). the edges seem to have some colour issues...

Unresolved
- the special character problem before 70 characters.
-Wlan - havent checked yet, although i dint have a problem with wlan even in the first firmware.

what I also found in this firmware is that the battery is at 100% when it is fully charged. When I used to have R9H004 firmware it always show 98% when it was fully charged, so I think this bug is fixed in the New (World Generic 1) R9J005

I'm not sure what they've done - something to graphics driver maybe? - but mine feels MUCH faster, dunno why.

I didn't much installed so it shouldn't be a master reset type thing. I think the WLAN seems faster, and i'm pretty sure I'm getting a working connection at longer ranges than before. I could never do anything other than connect to my WLAN from the back upstairs rooms, whereas now they connect and browse.

I don't think its at stable tho, I have had to hard reset (pull the battery) a couple of times, but then I have been pushing it to its limits (running every single app at once, multiple network connections etc). I was also surprised by the transitions, they always annoyed me before but now i may just leave them on!

If its really faster than it would take less time to start up. Is it quicker to start up?

No, not really, I never timed the boot time from the old FW so I can't really comment.

Its the UI that is faster, applications open quicker, they even switch quicker, menus are faster, everything. Even the predictive text seem to be faster, dunno what they've done, tweaked the graphics rendering maybe, but it is just faster.

Seems like bs to me... Fresh install didn't change anything speedwise for me before. Better yet, after a fresh install programs needed to be started clean so took longer to start but even after 3 weeks of uptime I noticed no slowdown in speed.

Can't test this new firmware myself unfortunately but if everybody is reporting faster response (much more than with the previous small update) might it not be that the developers actually improved things? I'd say so, instead of calling people dorks...
