Thanks.
I'll try to contact my Proximus Provider. But I think it is a dead end.
An idea what they do with the Firmware? An idea why the wap portal is different on both Firmwares?
And last but not least ... who releases or developes the Proximus firmware? Does Proximus get a basic firmware, they modify it and return it to SE to brand it on their phones?
Greetings,
Jeroen

Maybe you should go to the WAP portal and save it as a bookmark on the phone. Then flash the phone to generic firmware again and the bookmark should still be there
Proximus won't be able to do anything about that. They'll probably just flash it to their own branded firmware, no change.
Sony Ericsson releases the firmwares, also the operator branded ones.

Hello to everyone, this is my first post in this forum
Well, I bought the W910i about 8 days ago. It is branded Vodafone, I live in Italy, so here it is impossible to buy unbranded phones...
Immediately I had the famous bug regarding the continuous restarts, so I call the shop and tell about this. Showing a great competence they say the battery should be charged 15 hours the first time...the same stupid thing all the shop tell you when you buy a new phone. Anyway, I look over the internet and I found that a complete reset could resolve the problem. I did it and the phone works great until yesterday. Now I cannot enter the games menu, the application menu and the walkman button on the top of the phone, and the same menu option, don't work. I see this problems are common among us, but I cannot understand why I have 7 day with no problems and now I cannot play games. I don't know if it's useful, but yesterday I transfer music to my phone for the first time (4 complete CDs) and then I have the problem. I tried to do another complete reset, delete all the games and music from the memory card, but the problem persists.
I have R1CA029 prg12009124_VODAFONE_SH R1CA029 software version and my phone was builded in W40.
I tried to update via SE update program but it don't find any new version.
Thanks, bye

I keep on waiting, hoping I can play some games again

i have this issue of walkman and game button not functional. i have tried
1. master reset
2. update via sues
the problem still here wit unfunctional button.
i think the master reset and sues wont help this. i m in asia n using unbranded software.
i suspect this bug will occur when i install an 'animated theme' from the web then this problem start.
i have fix this problem thru REFORMAT the whole phone by 3rd party in an unauthorised SE center. Now i m using R1CA039 CHINA_SH

I've probably told this story a million times in various forums but I'll tell it again anyway.
My W910i has the Operation failed problem when I try to go into the Games menu, Applications menu, when I try to open the Walkman player from the desktop and when I try to open SenseMe. I've tried a master reset, formatting the memory card and updating with SEUS (although each time I've tried it says it says the update isn't necessary). It's unbranded and unlocked. I tried going to a local Telstra shop but they said that the best they could do was send it away for servicing but that without the proof of purchase (I bought it new off ebay and it didn't come with a proof of purchase) it would cost me so much money, that I wasn't ready to pay as it was only like a month old. I've since contacted the seller on ebay and he happily sent a proof of purchase for me which was good. However, I'm going to Melbourne next week (for summer school! woohoo) and I thought I'd go to a Sony Ericsson shop there to see if they say anything different. If not Ima just chuck the proof of purchase at them and get it repaired/replaced. I'm still not to happy about the whole situation though.
Anyway, thanks for listening.

I've just changed my phone at the shop.
For now it's all ok, no need to reset the phone since there are no auto-reset or other issues.
Hoping this time it will be ok
Bye

Have trouble with w910i. I've got it from Honk-Kong. I have some mp3s which has my native (russian) language in title or in ID3-tag and phone showing some of them allright, but some of them it shows in absolutly wrong language (chinise maybe???.)
I tried to look in options and untick all languages exept English (have NO russian in options), but it didn't help. My be there is any other way (change firmware or etc.)?

I think I have an idea why on my unbranded phone the Vodafone Wap portal is without colors ... just in text form.
When I flashed my to phone to Proximus Vodafone Firmware, I saved the flashlog of DaVinci. Today just curious, and checked it because I flashed my phone back to the Generic Firmware and wanted to know if there is a difference. I found 2 Security Certificates. Probably they allow the phone to get the full functional portal or not.
They are:
/tpa/preset/custom/Security Certificate_Vodafone Global_202.1.crt and
/tpa/preset/custom/Security Certificate_Vodafone Global_203.1.crt
Maybe those 2 files are the key, and now with the unbranded generic firmware, I do not have those certificates.
Does someone know, if it is possible to download them somewhere?
Greetings,
Jeroen
