Damn, I want that bokeh

something not possible with the RX100,

The pics are straight out of the Camera JPEG, I'm still learning from this camera though, might explore more on raw processing when I have time, but for the most part the jpegs are fine and I'm quite satisfied with it.

As far as I could remember I took those with the settings at saturation +2 sharpness +3 and contrast +1.

where +3 is the maximum and -3 is the minimum.

sometimes I think maybe I should've just went ahead and bought a micro four thirds cam, maybe a panasonic one.

If you're after the video, go for panasonic, for IQ Olympus takes the cake, EM10 and EM10 mark II are great cameras and their on sensor stabilization are the best I've seen yet.

RAW processing is fun, it had tons of information, and can bring out the true potential of your photo that the JPEGs can't. but you need to get used to lightroom if you plan to get really serious on editing your images.

Well, the type of Micro four thirds cam if ever I am to buy one, I'm looking for a compact body type like the panasonic GX and GF types, any olympus, canon, nikon or sony ones you can recommend that share the same compact body type? I'm still a little bit new to this hobby so I haven't explored most other options yet.

But anyway, the thing is, currently upgrading to a micro four thirds cam is not yet on my plan cause I don't have the budget

Maybe a couple of years later I might get one, just for photography enthusiast sake.

If you don't need the EVF as much as I do, then Panasonic GF7 should be fine. or you can get the Canon EOS M which is dirt cheap these days and comes with an awesome kit 22mm F2 + EF lens adapter, EOS M has APS-C sensor which is an advantage while the GF-7 has articulating display for selfies

I don't usually recomend Olympus bodies other than the OMD line since the PEN series are quite overpriced in our country.

ok, thanks for the recommendation, I'll keep that in mind,

About Olympus, well personally although this might sound ridiculous, I don't know why but I don't like the look of the olympus cameras yeah well personal preference.

okay, about the RX100 bokeh I guess I stand a little bit corrected, it is possible with the RX100, but the focus is so close for it to happen, or maybe the light has to be far away, I haven't seen much bokeh samples made by the RX100.

I was experimenting a little just earlier:

I better find some Christmas lights dangling outside, and a good subject to shoot to test this out.

Playing with bokeh shapes, cutaway filters that I put on my 50mm lens and here are the results

star shaped bokeh

Snow flake shaped bokeh (we don't have snowy winter here anyway )

I'm posting more of this as the holiday approaches

@tranced

which ones? razec's shots? mine are far from great although it is nice to have f1.8 aperture

@razec

what exactly are these "bokeh shapes, cutaway filters" care to enlighten please? There's actually a 49mm filter adapter available for the RX100, a polarizer would be great.

Also do you know any nice shops to get camera accessories here in the Philippines?
