You changed it while it was repairing?

I JUST did it now and it worked. You should be able to repair it.

You weren't following the instructions. At NO point does it say "edit the files as it's updating/reparing."

What it DOES say (now I understand that this isn't word for word) but to perform the repair and THEN edit the files. Then do it again.
Anyways, to fix your phone :

DELETE : C > ProgramData > Sony Ericsson > Sony Ericsson PC Companion > *FOLDER NAMED WITH YOUR IMEI*

AND
C > ProgramData > Sony Ericsson > SEMC OMSI Module > db > 13740270 > BLOB_FS > the two files you renamed at the wrong time.

Then perform a repair. It'll download the files again, then repair your phone.

THEN YOU CAN PERFORM THE DEBRANDING.

Yes you have misunderstood the steps. try to use SEUS and press and hold Back button and follow update steps to recover.

steps mentioned on the web are understandable and easy. Unlucky you..

That's great news based on what you guys have said about X10a flashed with X10i firmware. In that case, do we still need the X10a firmware upgrade? What drawbacks are there with using X10i firmware on X10a if 3G works and you get the updates from the new firmware?

I'm curious about this too, though I'll probably wait for the proper X10a files anyway.
