I tried one in CPW last week and instantly fell in love with it. It was the first phone running Android which made me think about dumping Symbian for Google's homemade OS.

So now i have a dilemma - whats my next phone ?

Nokia N8 ?
Galaxy S ?

or stick with the good old Satio ? basically id like all three but at the minute my finances are.. dire..

The Nokia N8 might be a gamble imo go for the Galaxy for now looks like the Nokia won't be out for sometime anyway. I love the Galaxy & since switching to Android I have never looked back & have forgotten all about Symbian

Well I too love my gadgets & have had many troubles & searching to find my perfect phone. The X10 was almost there but it failed me with too many problems. But I have spent alot of money but think I shall stick with this for a while. My dad won £30,000 back in January but he won't buy you anything

@etaab: go for Galaxy S now.
Don't buy N8 when it'll available, wait minimum 4/5 months, then you'll find the second batch which will be trouble free.
iPhone 4 with all issue, I don't see the point to get one right now. if you need iOS then why don't you just take 3GS and update to iOS4?
The last Samsung phone I had minimum 4/5 years ago before this one. I can see the company (samsung) has been going stronger quietly.

Samsung have already come 2nd in the market & are selling massive amounts of phones. They are now biting Nokia's backside & one of the top dogs now. Gone are the days when Samsung phones were like toys many years ago

@ adnansanni - the major draw of the N8 for me is its a Nokia. I prefer Nokia phones over all including SE now. I want its camera, i love Symbian, i want free sat nav for life, everything pretty much the N8 gives. Im looking forward to Symbian 3 because i dont mind bugs that much if im using a new OS. I dont mind being a guinea pig for improving the OS. I actively enjoy it.

But then i also like the Galaxy for its screen, form factor and Android. The camera wouldnt be enough for me.

I want an iPhone like ive always wanted an iPhone, because they're so sexy and fun to use. Unfortunately Apple have never once ticked all the boxes for me to invest such a large amount of money into owning one. 2010 and still no proper Bluetooth or multitasking ? those two features i use daily and intensively.

@ Bonovox - the main thing that has always put me off Samsungs running any OS be it their own, Bada, Android or Symbian they always tend to have so few apps written for them they become very boring phones very fast.

I was impressed wth the amoled screen on the desire, but the super amoled, even in these pictures, looks pretty good!
I hope/assume HTC will use these in future devices
if you haven't seen it, here's a comparison in sunlight between the galaxy S, desire and X10. Despite my enthusiasm for the Desires screen, it is clearly outshone by the Galaxy S and even the X10 screen is pretty good!

Oh for god's sake! Do you only care about the nice screen!!!!
That devices hasn't got a led-flash anymore. So kiss goodbey that handy LED-torch that all those others have.
It seems that these days everyone cares about the screen but NOT about the actual useable features.

I'd rather have a less screen but LED flash(that I can use as a lamp with optional software), incall-recording, good call quality without dropped calls (or "learn" how to hold your fecking phone), Full outlook synchronisation (including categories for contacts) etc..

But hey, I'm not one of those bloody facebook/twitter-morrons like everybody else!
